Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are selling their house in L.A. for nearly $13 million. The listing calls it a “Magnificent Hamptons-style estate on an acre with views to the Stone Canyon Reservoir.” Here are 9 things their house has that yours (probably) doesn’t…
#1. Polished Hardwood Floors You Can See Your Reflection In:
#2. A Theater Room with Lounge Seating:
#3. Pink & Blue Clouds (?) on the Bedroom Ceilings:
#4. A Bathroom Island:
#5. “An Aspen Room That Accommodates Several Hundred:”
#6. A Basketball Court and Gym:
#7. A Moroccan-Style Gazebo:
#8. “Staggering 360-Degree Panoramic Views from City to Ocean:”
#9. A Monogrammed Pool:
If your house has any of these things, give yourself points for living like a celebrity! Ha. Anyone else wondering how many people it takes to keep the floors in a 13,000 square-foot house looking this shiny and clean?
I think I was most surprised by the…
Balloon Shades on the Kitchen Windows:
And the red-checked chairs that went with them, which I wouldn’t have guessed was her style:
It’s nice to see lots of what appear to be family photos around the house, including the photo-booth style strips on the message board above, and the framed black and white photographs in the entry hall:
One thing we didn’t see in the listing: Mariah’s closet. The 12,000 square-foot boutique-like space in her Manhattan penthouse was featured in InStyle magazine in 2006 and became the stuff of legends, so I was hoping to get a glimpse of the one she had in this house, too. (You can watch her give a tour of her swanky apartment on a classic episode of MTV Cribs.)

*Bonus Celebrity Trivia*
The property was once owned by Farrah Fawcett, but it was “rebuilt from the ground up in 2006,” so I’m guessing it looks nothing like it did when she lived here. Farrah also purchased the place next door to use as a guest house:
After the earthquake in 1994 she ended up moving over there and living in it for a while. I wrote about it when it was on the market a few years ago, and you can see pics of it here.
