HGTV Green Home 2008 Winner: Marsha Coulthard
Just in case any of you were wondering, this is Marsha Coulthard. She lives in Bradenton, Florida. She just won the HGTV Green Home 2008, and I did not. This is not me answering the door tonight.
This isn’t me, either.
Looks like I’ll have to buy my own green balloons.
I can’t think of a single Marsha who is a Hooked on Houses reader, so my hopes of at least being invited to visit the Green Home have been dashed, as well.
But she seems like a very nice person. I’m happy for her. At least she knows how to react when someone gives her a Major Award.
Which reminds me. Would you believe I’m still getting people who are stopping by to defend Stephanie Dee’s lack of reaction when she won the Dream Home? I’m not hating on her, folks! I would just like a smile or something from a winner that indicates that they appreciate their good fortune. Marsha knows how to smile. She knows how to say “Thank you!” Good for her.
If you want to torture yourself and look at the house you didn’t win tonight, either, click here to take a tour of the Green Home.
Coming up next on Hooked on Houses: Details about the premiere of “Design Star” Season 3. I hope you were watching with me, because there’s lots to discuss!

I’m bitter. I didn’t put on pj’s or wash my face last night waaaaaaaaay past my normal time JUST IN CASE there was a knock on the door. Apparently it was for nothing. :o)

I guess that twenty I slipped to hgtv didn’t do me any good. Maybe next year I’ll up it to fifty.

Hi Julia,
Congrats to Miss Marsha, I missed the show and forgot to tape it so thank you for this post. I am so glad she had a pulse unlike the Dream Home winner, wasn’t that AWFUL. It was as if she left her brain somewhere !!! And I have to say I really like Joan Steffend what happened to her~ why was she excluded this year ???
Stay cool,
Kathy

Congrats to the winner of the 2008 Green Home. I was hoping and praying that this year the Green Home would go to a Non Homeowner for a change. It must be nice to own two homes. The winners are always looking so well off.

Now instead of a vacation house near water I have to continue camping near water in our pop up.

Talk it not being you! I live in Bradenton and was watching that night. I had also entered several times. As I watched I was sure I recognized the clues on her walking the street at being Bradenton. The more I saw, the more I was sure it was Bradenton. I started to wonder, could I have won. As it got closer to the winner being notified, I was even looking out my front window. The winner even lives in a neighborhood near my. How funny is that. I agree it was great to see an appreciative winner. Just wanted to share my almost me story.
