Bill and Giuliana Rancic are selling the brownstone they remodeled in Chicago for $6.8 million.
The makeover was featured in Traditional Home magazine, and after reading the article, I was curious about what the house looked like before.
After a little digging, I found the listing photos from when they bought it in 2013, and you can hardly tell it’s the same place now. They really transformed this place.
The house has four finished levels, including a rooftop deck. Take a look!

The house has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, and over 8,000 finished square feet.
The guest bedroom looked like this before the remodel (below):
The reality-TV stars have been married since 2007 and are parents to Duke, who’s three.
I thought I remembered seeing the same monogrammed crib in their former home in California,
and sure enough, here it is in his old nursery:
Giuliana told the magazine, “This is the most meaningful of any place we’ve lived in together because it’s where we brought our baby home and became parents.”
Designer Lonni Paul, who you may remember as a contestant on HGTV’s “Design Star” a few years ago, says, “In this rowhouse, which doesn’t allow light to pour in from either side, the blue functioned as a tool to create light and airiness that wouldn’t read heavy and dull when the sky turned cold and gray.”
The listing says:
The 1866 Victorian is located on a lovely tree-lined street just steps away from Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile.
This exquisite home was renovated down to the studs just over 2 years ago. Featuring the finest finishes imaginable — over 8,000 sq ft, soaring ceiling heights, radiant heated floors, 5 bedroom suites, a chef’s quality kitchen with gorgeous slabs of Calcutta marble, multiple Subzero fridges and two full height wine coolers.
The master suite expands the entire 3rd floor and showcases a 15 ft cathedral ceiling, a spa quality master-bath along with a two story bath/dressing room.
Back deck features an outdoor fireplace, kitchen, and large screen TV, accessible from a wall of french doors off of the main floor family room. The roof deck offers stunning lake and city views.
The Rancics reportedly paid $2.1 million for the property in 2013.
