Talk about a Power Couple! Alison Pincus is one of the founders of the popular One Kings Lane website, and her husband Mark Pincus started the gaming company Zynga, which we all have to blame thank for FarmVille. They’re selling their house in San Francisco’s posh Presidio Heights for $8.9 million. Take a look!
I’m loving the yellow tile in the kitchen.
Would love to get a better look at the view from that roof terrace:
The back of the house:
According to Zillow, an alleged stalker may be the reason they’re leaving the area. Scary stuff. The couple also had a smaller home in Cole Valley that they recently sold–photos of it here.
Here’s a video that gives you the full tour, including aerial views of the house and neighborhood, and explains features like the magnetic wall near the kitchen:

I love those green walls. It’s like vinyl? No? Right?
I don’t think I’d want to buy a house that was being sold due to a stalker situation. I immediately thought about an episode of Law & Order. I wouldn’t want to be mistaken for someone else.
but that is how my mind works.
Gorgeous house. Like a show house for the website.
Ditto on the stalker part. The first year after I bought this house (in my dreams) I’d have a big sign in the front yard saying “Alice(on and Mark) Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”
Wow – what a house. I love all the trim work & windows. Although I find the lack of window coverings troubling, especially in the master bedroom. Maybe they were all removed at the staging process.
I thought the same thing. No bedroom curtains? If you can see the house next door….they can see you….and your stalker, apparently.
LOL I thought exactly the same thing….what’s with the lack of curtains.
If you’re being stalked I would think rule 1 would be to not put on a display
for the neighbors (or stalkers!)
I was thinking the SAME thing as you all. Maybe the windows darken electronically? Or there are some recessed shades we can’t see?
Love love this home. I would take it furnished!!
Farmville Ha!! They also must have sold a lot of those canning jars on OKL!
Seriously thought the stalking issue WOULD be terrible.

um…in a word…YES! Loverly…all of it!
That house really screams “nouveau” to me… I don’t like it at all. Having grown up in the neighborhood which is full of beautiful old homes this looks new and lacking in history. It’s obviously “staged” and not in a great way. The price is right for Presidio Heights. Although I do not like it, it’s always nice to see how designer’s “stage” a home. I still enjoy looking at these photos! Thanks!
adore the yellow tile in the kitchen, love that bleached/weathered (cyprus?) wood in the little study that looks to be on a landing…

I’m with you–the yellow tile is really cool. Such a nice pop of color. And I love the shade of green on the walls–maybe a bit too shiny for me, but the shade makes me happy.
Amazing house! But what the heck are those shiny green walls made of? fiberglass?? and the ceiling in that same room (tin foil??) It’s truly eye-popping!
STUNNING! I love the stair railings on the exterior!
Love all the light in the house – wasn’t too crazy about the shiny green, but I wouldn’t turn it down if someone gave the house to me.
I did a little googling on the stalking situation. VERY scary stuff! The stalker in question appears to have some serious mental issues. I can see why the house is being sold, but I wouldn’t want to buy it…I don’t think I’d want to potentially become entangled in that situation. Yikes!
This house is so pretty. I love all of the different details. I wasn’t expecting it to look this nice when I saw the outside.
Floorplans and more for this cool San Fran house:

Anybody else think the master is oddly small compared to the other bedrooms?
Thanks, Brandy! I always love seeing the floorplans.
Magnetic wall near the kitchen? Interesting. I never heard about it, but it looks great. The upper floor of the house look to me like it was designed by one Canadian home designer – Steffanie Garreau (she belongs to the top 7 home designers in Toronto). I especially love the area around the stairs and the entrance to the terrace with the dog statue on one side and the library cabinet on the other. I guess the owners had lot of success with their Farmville.
Lively looking place. Interesting and fun pieces.
This place is fun and charming – mixing it up yet balanced.
That kitchen – living room idea is fantastic.
I love this house so much and I’ve posted it before on my blog. That kitchen is stunning! Love the yellow backsplash. So fresh!
I hope you have a wonderful week, my friend!

Holee cow this is fab! Love the yellow back splash and I’m not even a yellow person. So sad they never even got to move into this place. Really looks like a place one could stay for a long time. The green is a bit much but given it’s a walk through space, love they just made it fun.
What a way to make traditional fresh without taking out the traditional bones of the house – love that.
Amazing home!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this lovely place! But a stalker…eeek, not a good situation!
The green room is stunning!
If I had a stalker, I’d get drapes. Nice house though. Love the use of color. Wonder if the stalker is someone addicted to FarmVille? The stalker situation would be a real turn off even if I had $8.9 million.
Hmmm. looks like a plastic Barbie & Ken Dream House to me, but different tastes are what make architecture and interior design interesting.
Weirdest thing….doesn’t it look like a remodeled version this house on Houzz http://www.houzz.com/photos/384662/Pacific-Heights-Home-Dining-Room-contemporary-dining-room-san-francisco ? Either way…freaking amazing…both of them!
Wow Lynn – you are so right. Keen eye. Maybe it’s a different house, with the same floorplan. Or, as you suggest, the same house, remodeled.
Whoa–that DOES look like the same house. I’m amazed that you spotted that. The bones of the house look identical. Thanks for the link, Lynne!
That is indeed the same house. 3855 Washington Street, SF, CA was bought by the Pincus family after it was remodeled and listed in 2009. They then subsequently performed their own remodel… never moved in due to stalker… and it listed it anew in 2011. I think it was lovely before the OKL/Zynga family bought it. Oh well!

Bravo, Nancy Drew! Thanks for doing this sleuth work for us!
Wow! What a house!
What a gorgeous house!
Hi Julia – how did you know I love the blue and white outside and the yellow ..WOW. I was having a great time admiring this beautiful place until you mentioned STALKER! It’s still beautiful. Thanks for sharing Regards Esther from Sydney.
I don’t imagine the stalker situation is relevant any more given that everyone on the web now knows about him/her do you?
This is way too funky for me. Those stools in the kitchen remind me of a jack in the box. Just doesn’t feel like home. I prefer the “Mrs. Doubtfire ” house, dated and all.Different strokes for different folks—fun to look at, though!
Hate the green walls. LOVE the yellow tile backsplash and the yellow striped wallpaper! The windows in the master bedroom are fabulous!
I guess I could live there
I love all the windows and light- but I have to say, as a Realtor I would have told them to tone down that green before listing their home! YOWZA- that makes quite the statement!
Wow, what a home! I am not surprised – their home matches the sort of things they sell on One King’s Lane.
I adore the layout and the floor plan and the exterior. I wish the interior had more of a theme, maybe? Just something to link different rooms together because it seemed like every room was a different house’s room. But I really like the architecture of the house.
I think it is a sad day when for whatever reason, one cannot live in this gorgeous house.
The green walls are probably plexiglass. I really like the concept and think the depth and gloss of plexiglass would be great in a less saturated color. I’m filling the idea away for future reference.
Also love the contrast in the study.
The bold yellow backsplash is a wonderful choice to bring life to this kitchen and the stools are just lovely.
I have to wonder about the lack of window coverings. What’s up with that?
Please never call our city “San Fran” again? I’d really appreciate it.
Just wanted to fit the post title on one line. Sorry to anyone in San Francisco who was offended by my abbreviation!
I don’t see what’s wrong with saying “San Fran”. Someone might be a little oversensitive.
The house is beautiful and Julia, I love your blog!
Oh, that kitchen! The sunny yellow tile and white cabinets are a dream.
And I thought the same thing about the bedroom curtains, or lack thereof. Weird!
Here’s my absolute fav house in San Francisco. Though now you can’t see it very well from the street.

It’s funny you should mention that house, Gina. I was just researching it because it was used in an old Fred Astaire movie I was watching called “The Pleasure of His Company.” It really is something special. I hadn’t seen that page you linked to about it, though–thanks!
Stalker??? I’m looking through the photos and its very clear that this house is in a neighborhood with other houses nearby and yet there are NO window treatments. Sounds like they were making it easy on the stalker!
