Can You Guess Who Cooks in This Kitchen?

by hookedonhouses on July 2, 2008

Okay, boys and girls. It’s time to play “Can You Guess Who Lives Here?”

Believe it or not, this unassuming kitchen belongs to a big-time celeb whose life is much more colorful than this bland decor would suggest. Can you guess who cooks here? (Or whose personal chef does?)

Here are your 3 clues:

1. You could say her most recent album was “sweet.”

2. She wanted to play the role of Frida Kahlo, but it went to Salma Hayek instead.

3. She was paid $5 million for a commercial that aired only once.

Is that too easy? If you’re a fan, this is probably a no-brainer for you. Take a guess in the comments!

Then be sure to come back tomorrow (Thursday) to see the answer, along with the rest of the photos from this Very Famous Person’s place!

i’m going to guess J-Lo. I would think for some celebrities that their lives are colorful enough so from their homes they want a sanctuary. of course their are others who need color and excitement in every area of their lives.

My guess would be Jennifer Lopez, not because I’m a fan, but I think I remember her wanting to play Frida Kahlo. I see some people guess Madonna. Really??? She wanted to play Frida??? I just can’t see that, but maybe neither could the casting people and that’s why they chose Selma.

It’s Madonna. Wow, I wouldn’t have pegged her to have a kitchen like that. Very understated!

    No brainer: Madonna.

And after getting burnt out on her overexposure, I’m back to being a fan. I still remember the reaction to her first single. I said, “Yow, this one’s a winner.” Meaning that I figured she’d have a few years of stardom and then be passed over for the next fresh hot young face. Ooops!

BTW, that’s a big kitchen if it’s in London. Personally, I like it, but I just can figure that a real cook keeps tins of stuff over the stove where it will get a fine coat of grease.

I’m saying Madonna too. And if that’s right then I’m really surprised at this simple kitchen. I like it though. I’d like it better with different flooring :)

    Ah ha! That’ll learn me.

Then I’ll have to agree that it’s Madonna.

I’m sure she has a personal chef. I have a personal chef too, she’s just very personal (= me)

Its Madonna’s kitchen. If you have watched anything with Madonna in it in regards to her personal life, all of her homes are very simple and understated. She is an art collector and does not like clutter from what I have heard and read about her. I am a chef and to quote “M” your rite no chef for the most part would put those tins above the stove ( I am a trained chef) however, I can guarentee that the amount this person is gettin payed they will lick the greece off of the tins before she comes into the house.
    regards.

“You do an eclectic celebration of the dance! You do Fosse, Fosse, Fosse! You do Martha Graham, Martha Graham, Martha Graham! Or Twyla, Twyla, Twyla! Or Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd! Or Madonna, Madonna, Madonna!… but you keep it all inside. ”

Sorry ! I can’t think of Madonna without this quote from “The
    Birdcage”.

I think it might be Madonna, too. Or J Lo. Or Penelope Cruz. I can’t make my mind up!

It is kind of a boring looking kitchen, isn’t it?!

Sooooo… thanks for stopping by… do you hate the black background? I thought it made the paintings POP! I have to say… I was wondering if someone would make a comment… you win… you were first! lolol

I had no ideas whose kitchen that was, I just wish mine were that clean–and toyless–and fingerprintless–and has stickyless cabinet doors.

Yeah, I’m guessing Jennifer Lopez too. And now that I’ve seen this kitchen, I’ve got one more reason to covet. :)

No seriously. I wonder how much she cooks in there.

Madonna. The Frida Kahlo thing was was gave it away for me. She wanted to play all the famously maligned South American women (Evita). Yeah, I know Frida was Mexican.

Anyhoo, Diana at Please Sir blogged about this place today and after I realized that I had spent AN HOUR on it I thought of you: http://www.locationworks.com/library/index.html. It’s total house porn.

Maya’s first comment was, “Ah ha?”

It’s a little ironic, because I was playing one of A-Ha’s albums as I was scrolling through the comments. For a second, the thought did enter my mind that this could be A-Ha’s kitchen. LOL!

Some of the younger folks here may not have much exposure to the Norweigan band, A-Ha. A-Ha is to Norway what ABBA is to Sweden.

Madonna’s 50th birthday is approaching very fast, so she may be simplifying her life a bit. May? As we age, I do think there’s a tendency to want less clutter around. Well, for those aging folks witout 10 maids to clean the clutter.

Clutter is great if you have someone to clean it for you.

What’s funny is that I thought I saw this on your blog but maybe I saw this on a random website when I was stumbling. I knew it was Madonna’s kitchen right away, either way. Just so you know, I just caught up reading through a whole month’s worth of your updates. I was gone to Europe for the month of June, but I’m back now and ready to read your writing! I love houses and I am currently obsessed on checking our local listings for houses I could see myself buying. My husband and I want to buy and rent houses and I just love them. Keep it up!
