I am in love with the Georgia one.
I am ready to move into the Massachusetts one right now!! It’s gorgeous!
They’re all wonderful but I much prefer the smaller houses…easier to keep up and less expensive to heat and cool.
I’m loving that Massachusetts home! Absolutely gorgeous!
Now… to find a job there and move away…
*sigh*
The house in the Georgia mountains is lovely. Thanks for sharing!
Great selections! I really enjoy the St. Louis house…they did an excellent job with the design–I would think it was just a reno of a classic house!
And maybe the seller will jump in, but I believe number one is a design by Don Gardner architects. I worked with that firm for a number of years, and worked on that plan early in my career.
They really did do a great job on the St. Louis house. I’ve been to that neighborhood and it blends right into the houses on either side. A tornado had blown the original house away, leaving a (rare) open lot to build on.
Glad the series is back! I love the Massachusetts the best. I would never leave that one! The Utah one is very pretty and the St louis one very cool! I’ve always wanted to live out in the country. Does anyone who lives out in the country get tired of it? Do the advantages outweight the disavantages? Example , lots of privacy but a long drive to the store.
Christina–I lived in the country for 4 years. Loved the setting and privacy. It was so quiet and beautiful. And we were able able to get a great house for very little money. It did get old having to drive at least 10 miles to get to anything, though!
I grew up on 20 acres, lived there for about 2o years, and I loved it. It was nice not having to worry about neighbors and privacy. Plus the stores were only 10 minutes away from us and the scenery was gorgeous. If I could live on property again, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Love the St Louis home!! Whenever a builde/ architect takes the area surroundings into account makes a huge difference in the community!

So true!
I have to say that the Massachusetts house was my favorite as long as it is not in the middle of nowhere. I don’t get wanting to live in a big old house that is way out in the country if I am not a farmer or rancher or something. I want walking distance or biking to Starbucks (or some other great coffee shop)!
I love #1 The Young Colonial in Mass. It’s got some really nice architectural details.
They are all sweet, Mass is my favorite though. I must say I am always ASTOUNDED at what your money gets you in other parts of the country! NJ is just so darned expensive! A house like that in my neighborhood would easily be THREE times the price !!!!!
Thanks for sharing !
im from ny. try five times. but you have the awful property tax.
wow – they are all beauties! and amazing settings!
I got a chuckle out of the realtor’s selling point for the new house in the historic St Louis ‘hood: “without all the old house hassles”!
Sounds good to me. I’d love to live in a new-old house like that!
Sarah, when I lived in the area, I always took the Lafayette Square House Tour. The time, effort and money people put into renovating those gorgeous old wrecks was amazing. Their “before” pics were horrifying. They’d talk about hauling away tons of trash, banishing raccoons and other critters, etc.
I’m sure that’s what that realtor was thinking of when s/he wrote that ad.
I took that tour one year, too, Junie, and it really was amazing to see the work people put into those old houses. Long-time readers will remember I had a photo I took from Lafayette Square in my blog’s header for the first year. I’d love to take another house tour there someday!
cannot believe how cheap homes are once you are out of the city area. i live in staten island, can see the skyline of nyc. if a duplex were to sell, it would be more than some of the homes prices listed. amazing. for 600k, i can sell my 2000 sq ft home with very little property (can we say 30 x 100) for probably the same price. not joking. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why does ma want to sell. are they nuts???????????
Thank you sweet lady! ;D
Fun house tours! The Massachusetts house is my favorite. It’s not too big, not too small and it’s just a great size. I also love how the house is out in the country. My dream is to live on property again because I grew up on some.
Wow. Gorgeous!
Love this post idea! Looking at houses is so much fun, especially when the’re currently for sale.
I LOVE house #1!!!! Too bad it is just a “bit” of a relocation for me from Saskatchewan, Canada:)
These are beautiful homes. I do prefer smaller homes as well, but these are gorgeous too!
I love the first house in Mass.! I could move right in quite happily.
Hey….I live in the same town as the Mass house!!!!! I look on realtor.com all the time to see whats out there and have looked at that house many times (even though we have a nice house) I still like to see others….This is a nice small town…we love it here!!!
All of these homes have great curbside appeal. Too bad they aren’t closer to where we live.

Love the views offered by some of the homes. Imagine waking up to a gorgeous water front or mountain view! Stunning!
I would LOVE to know where to get the oversized blinds for windows. The bamboo or wooden ones? We have a contemporary room, very eclectic , and I would love to warm it up with a window treatment ( not curtains) and hope custom blinds would work. Pull-up blinds.
Thanks for the house tours!! Love them all!
I especially love the soft colors in the Colonial. Wish I knew the names of the paint colors used.
All of them are great! Hopefully, they have had some action on them. Thanks for sharing. Hope you’re having a grand evening. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
