That chicken coop is too cool!! That’s the only way I’d want to have chickens.
My in-laws have a bunch of chickens, but their coop isn’t nearly so fabulous.

Also loved the chicken coop. We had one when I was a kid…it looked nothing like that!
Also loved the mantle link. That’ has been something I’ve obsessed over for a long time. I think I have finally solved it, but I still don’t like my red brick fireplace. If I had the nerve, I think I would paint it.

Julia…I loved several of your links…but am listening now to the SRT roundtable discussion. I started feeling all defensive on your behalf once they mentioned your blog, but I’ve calmed down a little bit now.
I understand that we all have people that we look up to, whether in blog world or in “real” life. I think the human condition is such that we are always looking at others and being tempted to want what they’ve got…to keep up with the Joneses, etc. It’s a human impulse that we all must fight. You were so right when you said that there will always be bigger blogs out there, there will always be more famous writers, etc. I choose to try and learn from those blogs and their authors – they’ve gotten “big” for good reason – and leave it at that. Jealousy is not unique to blogging…we’ve got to fight that green monster every day in many ways.
