Vintage Skeleton-Key Jewelry for House Lovers

keys

I have always loved old skeleton keys. I think they’re so beautiful. I was excited when I saw that the talented jewelry designer behind the Etsy shop Beyond the Rockz was inspired to create necklaces based on his own collection of antique and vintage keys (above).

Al created molds from the old keys, and this is how the necklaces turned out:

Aren’t those cool? I think this would be the perfect gift for a house lover. In fact a girlfriend of mine (and loyal reader) told me she already gave the Beyond the Rockz link to her husband as a hint, hint for Christmas. Clever girl!

I’m proud to have Beyond the Rockz as one of my long-time sponsors. Using mostly antique and handmade tools, they create each piece of jewelry with fairly-traded stones and recycled or repurposed metals.

I love them! I love an old key like that with a tassel around it, but I think I could manage to wear it around my neck!

Julia…when I was a kid our front door key was a skeleton…..I at that time thought everyone had one…. Sadly my parents put in a new front door….I kept the key but somehow lost it…. I’d forgotten about our old front door until this post…thanks for the memory !!!

I want one of the Tiffany’s keys which look like old skeleton keys, but these are fun! I think they are so pretty and different! My husbands boss has tons of old keys from the old house he just bought, maybe they can do this with them!
