I just discovered the Color Personality Profile Quiz over at the Pratt & Lambert Paints website (via How About Orange) and thought it was fun. It asks you a few unexpected questions like, “What personality trait would you most like your children to have?” and “Which of the following activities would you enjoy most?”
This is the Personal Color Profile it came up with for me (above). I’m “Shades of Pale.” I have been toying with the idea of painting my bedroom a pale blue like my office. According to this, looks like it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go with that.
Take the short quiz and then come back to let me know what your color personality is!

Spooky – but worrying…The very first two colours the quiz came back with are the colours my hall was until a few weeks ago, the colours of my current dining room, and the rugs and accessories from the living room that I’ve just changed. Never mind, I can always start again if I regret it!

I am “sun-kissed.” I would say that’s pretty accurate for me!
These colors have all the elements of energy, friendliness and ease. They create a warm and cozy environment. The person who chooses this palette is generous and wants their home to be welcoming and friendly. Comfortable and casual furnishing reflect their desire to entertain and spend more time at home with their family and friends.
I am Raffia. I agree with this.
Raffia is a collection of neutrals and interesting greens that signify a timeless appreciation of diversity. A person drawn to this palette appreciates texture and the importance of tactility in all surfaces. They wish for a sophisticated environment that is also casual. They seek a balance with nature and time.

I am “By the Seaside”. Very ironic because my parents grew up on the Florida coast and nearly my entire family currently lives there. Except me… I’ve always lived in Kentucky. Definitely no seaside here! I love these colors too! I was contemplating painting my dining room red, but I think I’m going to reconsider now.

This was fun! I am “Botanical Gardens” – and I love that color palette!
Neat quiz! I too was “shades of pale”. Seems right. I love those soft shades and tend to chose them often in my home.

Mosaic – totally not me at all, but as they didn’t ask me the right questions it’s unsurprising!

Hmmmm…. not even close!! I came out as Sun-Kissed — and all the colours in my palette are the colours I like the LEAST!!

Sun-kissed – 2nd commenter already listed the description. i think it’s pretty accurate.

Ok I’ve taken it a couple of times and I keep getting Sun Kissed. Whilst I admire those colors, and use warm tones, I think MY color personality is more in line w/ yours, Julia. Hmmmmm. But just FYI – the color ‘Morning Star’ in the ‘Shades of Pale’ palette is GORGEOUS GORGEOUS in my girls’ room. My most favorite pale blue yet.

botanical gardens… not too far off, although i probably wouldn’t have picked it for myself, it does give me something to think about. is it just my old eyes or are thos pictures really really small?

The mosaic palette consists of plush, rich hues that combine with strong furnishings and accents for an intriguing and comfortable environment. Saturated jewel tones and earth tones are for people who crave a home that reflects their travels and their adventurous and romantic nature. They desire an environment with collections that are reminiscent of other times and cultures.
Perfect color choices for me. I want them all!
I’m ‘Botanical Gardens’. I’d say that’s somewhat accurate, as I like a lot of those colors, but I like them more in my clothes than in my home.

I was “sun-kissed”. I would have to say …that it was pretty accurate.
Very interesting quiz. I am “Sun Kissed” and I do love the color palette. I live in Minnesota so the warm colors help me feel comfortable and cozy when I get home from work. It is COLD here!
I am Botanical Gardens. The colors are all very bright and tropical. I thought I’d come up with more of a neutral result. Weird, huh? Fun quiz though!

Botanical Gardens. Not sure that this is right.. but the colors were pretty.
A palette of bright, saturated colors that some might think is reminiscent of colors in a tropical jungle. These combinations are vibrant and alive. An explosion of color that all relates to nature. Those who choose this palette are likely to dress colorfully and with purpose, confidence and daring. They want their home to reflect their colorful personality. They are able to continually change their environment with interesting and dramatically colored accessories.
I am
By the Seaside
Colors in this palette are reminiscent of a sunny seaside. These combinations are refreshing and invigorating. They provide sparkle with lightness while also imbuing a sense of soothing calm. Oceanic hues are ideal for making a bathroom, bedroom or study an oasis. These colors provide a balance for those with a hectic life. The person who decorates with these colors is looking for their home to be their escape.

That was fun, Julia! Apparently I am “Sun Kissed”… which is actually pretty right on except that I’d change out the darkest orange for a barn red to go with all the golden yellows, earthy greens and bit of blue.

I’m “Sun-Kissed” and it’s spot on! Great quiz!
I thought it odd that on the question about what attribute you would most like your child to have, the option of “creative” or “creativity” wasn’t offered. It was the first thing I thought of.
I despised all of the colors in my quiz results except for a neutral golden beige. Besides that, the rest of the colors I would never ever have on anything I owned. (I won’t say what my results were because I don’t want to offend anyone who got the results and liked the colors

I’m a Mosaic – the colors surprised me but I liked it.

I got mosaic and it’s pretty much my favorite colors. Great quiz. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I’m “by the seaside”. I think this may fit since the other night my husband said he feels like he is a guest in someones beach house in our bedroom. I think that is the perfect compliment to my style. I would love to live at the beach one day.

I came out “Shades of Pale” which is pretty accurate for my home, although I love bright colors in my wardrobe and punches of it in my home.
I got sun kissed. I like them, but they are a little too… subdued for my tastes. All those yellows were a bit too much for me. I like slightly bolder colors.

Mosaic. And I have to say I am now inspired to start painting. We’ve been in our house for 2 years now, and have only painted accents in one room; the rest of the house is still the realty neutrals. This was exactly what I needed to give me the courage to paint my home the colors I want it to be!
I got botanical gardens but I’m not sure how well it fits…. I think some of the colors on there I would never choose, but overall they seem to represent what I like. I think those would be colors I would accessorize with, though, because I like more subdued colors on the walls and brighter colors in little punches throughout the room. This was a fun quiz!

So, the shore girl is “Sun-Kissed.” Though I didn’t care for any of the colors that went along with the description! Go figure.

Interesting…I am sun kissed, which is pretty funny because I am allergic to the sun. Funniest part? Several of those colors are already on the walls of my house.

Botanical Gardens…right on the money. I noticed several colors that I already have in my house!
I took the quiz twice and I got two different ones. Botanical Garden and Sun-Kissed. Out of the two, I would say Sun-kissed is more me because I’m more of a person that wants my home warm and inviting.
I got “sun-kissed” which is spot on, I think. It says I like warm, inviting colors. Let’s see….my master bedroom is brown with blue accents, my library is a rich green, my dinning room is a warm orange, my entryway and family room is a blue-gray. haha! Colors very similar to what were the colors for sun-kissed. A couple of my friends have said that they wouldn’t think the darkish colors would work, but that it makes my house seem welcoming. I like that.

I’m “Traditional” which is partially true. Certainly the colors in my home do reflect that, only because I have to share it with my husband! On my own, I would lead to the Shades of Pale. I’d love a house in all shades of white..very Gustavian, but I’d rather have a husband, so I’ll be traditional!
I came out as sun-kissed too–lovely colors but really, really not a palette that appeals to me for myself or my home. Funny that the two colors I picked at the beginning of the quiz did not appear at all in the palette.
I went back and changed a two of the closer answers and got:
By the seaside–which is a more accurate and appealing palette, at least for me.
shades of pale- i think it’s pretty on!

I’m a Mosaic. Which sounds exactly right. “for people who crave a home that reflects their travels ” I’ve been wondering where my pottery from Peru is. I want to put it out but now I can’t find it. And I love jewel tone colors. But I didn’t choose jewel tones for any of my rooms. Or, I should say, my home didn’t choose jewel tones for itself. I went along with whatever the house told me. If I had the Spanish Colonial I wanted, then I would have chosen the jewel tones. But not for the Craftsman. The Craftsman doesn’t want jewel tones.

“by the seaside” was spot on accurate, had exactly the saturated colors of my turquoise dining room, coral-pink bedroom, and yellow living room.
I’m classical…which is correct in describing my color choices for my home. I have a historic home that I have decorated in these timeless colors. I love your inspirational photos of beautiful old homes. Thanks! I’m also addicted to them.
