Hooked on House Tours: Fall Edition

Welcome to my second annual Hooked on House Tours blog party (Fall Edition)! Yesterday I showed you how I decorate my house for fall (if you missed it, click here). Today we’re going to see what everyone else has to share. It’s basically a Big Open House around the Blogosphere–and what could be more fun than that?

This is the kind of house tour you can take with slippers on your feet and a cup of hot cider in your hand (we add a dash of brandy to ours and top it with whipped cream–yum). So go ahead, get comfy. Get yourself something to drink. And get ready to click!

Got a house to show us on your blog? It could be just one room or a top-to-bottom tour. Show us your place or someone else’s. It’s up to you!  Just please be sure to:

Thank you for hosting this tour. I’ve included most of the first floor of our house. I’ll have to work on including more than that for your Christmas tour!

Now, I’m curious as to just what you do with your apple cider. Do you mull it and then add a bit of brandy to hot cider? Got a recipe?

I love fall! It is the best time of year. Besides the yummy food and beautiful colors, I love that it gets dark earlier and people leave their blinds open longer. No, I’m not crazy, I just like seeing how other people decorate!!

Can’t wait to go through all of them! I think I’ll wait til tomorrow since I’m trying to watch Grey’s. Pretty decorations & blood don’t go so well together. :)

Also, can you delete my #18? I entered it with a cutesy little heart, and then when I came back, it was just an html code. And I forgot to add my blog name. Hopefully you can figure it out, b/c I haven’t been able to figure it out with Mcklinky. Sorry about that! Let me know if you can figure it out.

I’m also a big fan of the house tours, and this is the first time I actually have something to share. Fall decorations fit right in with the color schemes of my home, so they go together well! Looking forward to getting some inspiration for next year from everyone else’s home tours.

Hi Julia,
I love looking at all the beautiful fall decorations. My home is small, so I have to adapt, but there are so many beautfiul and creative things I would love to put into my home.
You hit a nerve and opened my eyes with your last post of your family room. You noted that a mirror over the fireplace is a decorator no-no. I have a mirror over my fireplace and have never been happy with it but couldn’t figure out why. Because it is reflecting my celiling!! DUH! I was even going to go out and buy a different style mirror to see if I liked it better! Yours looks really good, mine does not, its coming down! My mantle is very high which makes the mirror way to high. Thanks for the clarity…I need your wisdom!! Now….to find something to put above my fireplace…

I love this time of year because you can decorate and keep it out for 2 months. Unlike Christmas that only lasts 3 weeks. All that work kills you and then it’s time to put it all away!

I am so busy canning this year that I haven’t put a stitch of fall up yet! But I am not complaining- I am so happy with all the bounty of the season!! I guess maybe I should pink a link up of my canning jars sitting so sweetly on the counter- that’s fall decorating to the T! I just made up some peach salsa with a friend yesterday- Wow is it great stuff!!

Looking forward to visiting and getting some inspiration for when I do get the time to start fall!
