Do you have an iPod yet? I’m what they call a “late adopter” when it comes to technology, so I just got my first one–a new iTouch that you can put photos, music, and videos on, browse the Internet from, and download all kinds of helpful applications for. I was contacted by DuPont last week and asked to try their new mySurface app on the iPod that they sent me to see what I thought.

The mySurface app is simple to download, and it’s free. It’s also easy to use (if I can do it, anyone can!). It has a gallery of Corian and Zodiaq surface colors and textures you can look through to see what you like. Or compare them to counters you come across at a friend’s house or during a home tour to find the closest match! You can save your favorites, share them with others via e-mail, and request samples.
I need to replace my kitchen countertops, so this app has been really helpful for me to see what various options would look like in the room.

DuPont has given me an iTouch to give away to one of my lucky readers! I think you’ll love it. You’ll be able to download fun, free apps like mySurface and try them for yourself.

- For an extra entry, leave a second comment telling me what your favorite DIY app is, if you have one, or tell us the type of app you think would be helpful to decorators and DIYers. (For example, I would love to have an app with paint colors so I wouldn’t have to carry around a purse full of paint chips all the time!)
Several of my blog friends are hosting iPod giveaways this week, including Amy of Living Locurto and The Remodeling Guy. Go and enter theirs, too, if you want to increase your chances of winning one! Please note that DuPont provided these iPods so that we could try the mySurface app, and they support full disclosure (WOMMA).

I am having a terrible time with this house in rodanthe, I go to sleep thinking of it, I dream about, I think of it when I am doing things that are even unmentionable. I have a sick feeling in my stomach, and ache for this place. I don’t understand it. I live in calif. my family is from texas and new orleans and I have never been in N.C. anyway, I signed up for the camera ,phone……..????? I am old sick alone and miserable, even more so now that this house is plastered in my head. anyway thanx for listening. I am in love with that house…………….glo
Gloria–
Oh, I know, it’s so sad that that house is falling into the ocean. I need to do an updated post about it. I read that it was recently named a “public nuisance,” which means it must be either moved or taken down. Such a shame! -Julia
me……….I don’t know how to work it, am sick and want to make an eletronic scrapbook, before I pass. don’t know how long I have. I was supposed to only make it 2 or 3 years, about 16 years ago. I just know how it hurts to love someone and cannot do that to my loved ones. so here I stay, every nite thinking this is it, but ain’t I lucky. I have the sweetest schnauzer, and I want to take a few decent pics of us to save for all times. I just need something that makes me look good at arms length. god, I loved that house in rodanthe, when we went inside I got shivers and chills that I had something very intimate to do with that house. I have never been there. oh, well, here I am, old sick obsessed. but happy…
