Do you have an iPod yet? I’m what they call a “late adopter” when it comes to technology, so I just got my first one–a new iTouch that you can put photos, music, and videos on, browse the Internet from, and download all kinds of helpful applications for. I was contacted by DuPont last week and asked to try their new mySurface app on the iPod that they sent me to see what I thought.

The mySurface app is simple to download, and it’s free. It’s also easy to use (if I can do it, anyone can!). It has a gallery of Corian and Zodiaq surface colors and textures you can look through to see what you like. Or compare them to counters you come across at a friend’s house or during a home tour to find the closest match! You can save your favorites, share them with others via e-mail, and request samples.
I need to replace my kitchen countertops, so this app has been really helpful for me to see what various options would look like in the room.

DuPont has given me an iTouch to give away to one of my lucky readers! I think you’ll love it. You’ll be able to download fun, free apps like mySurface and try them for yourself.
- Enter by leaving a comment on this post before Saturday, October 17, 2009.
- For an extra entry, leave a second comment telling me what your favorite DIY app is, if you have one, or tell us the type of app you think would be helpful to decorators and DIYers. (For example, I would love to have an app with paint colors so I wouldn’t have to carry around a purse full of paint chips all the time!)
Several of my blog friends are hosting iPod giveaways this week, including Amy of Living Locurto and The Remodeling Guy. Go and enter theirs, too, if you want to increase your chances of winning one! Please note that DuPont provided these iPods so that we could try the mySurface app, and they support full disclosure (WOMMA).

Julia, I don’t know much about the iTouch, like you I am a little behind in the world of technology. But if I could have an app it would be to take a picture of a room and get instant decorating ideas. Also, it would have an option so I could take a picture of something I am considering to buy for that room and it would incorportate it into the room picture. Then, I could see if I liked it. Can that sort of thing be done? Or is it like wishing to fly?
What a fun entry!

I would love, love, LOVE an iPod touch! Wouldn’t it be so handy to have!!??!
I would love an app where you could upload a photo of a room, then pick up furniture and “rearrange” it, so you could see how it looks before actually moving everything!
I would love to have an iTouch!! Thanks for the awesome opportunity to win one!

My dream app would be one that you could upload your photos of your rooms and then change and redesign them as you find patterns, colors, furniture etc. that you like! It would be awesome! Just a wish I guess…

I am slow getting on the ipod boat as well! I would love to have one!
I recently attended a Benjamin Moore class and would love to be able to have their application that reads the color of an object and tells which BM color is the closest. They used a green apple as an example. Very useful!
Oh, I would LOVE this!!!

I think a fabric swatch app would be lovely — especially considering how often I like to change my throw pillows

I would like an application for a complimentary color app. For example you take a picture of a color and then the app would come up with colors that would look great with that wall or pillow or whatever it is that you would like to incorporate into your room.
They also have an app that is a level- which i thought was pretty cool.
Great giveaway! I have been dreaming of installing antique pearl Zodiaq countertops in my kitchen. This app would be helpful to have while I’m choosing other finishes.
i would LOVE an ipod touch!!!
I’ve been using the Ben Color Capture app by Benjamin Moore. It’s fun to use and it serves as a reference tool when I’m choosing paint chips–even from brands other than Benjamin Moore.
Oh how fun! I’d love an i touch!
An app I’d love was a way to put your blueprints or room measurements on your device so you always had your room dimensions with you when shopping for furniture or wall decor.
I am so behind in the world of technology (I just upgraded my cell phone after 8 years – um, a lot has changed). An iPod is on my Christmas wish list. I would love to have an app for paint samples. I am constantly collecting them and then losing them.

An iPod giveaway. Yes please, sign me up. I don’t know what apps are currently available but I’d love to see one that allows you to move furniture around in a room (without all the actual heavy lifting and moving part).
I just recently got my first mp3 player. It does nothing except play music. I would love an itouch!
No itouch, no ipod, no i-nothing! I’m so behind tech-wise it’s embarrassing! Heck, I just learned Polyvore last weekend! Thanks for this opportunity, Julia. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Oh… and is it the itouch that works with the Benjamin Moore paint app? I’d love to have something like that for times when I don’t have a paint deck with me! …or at least so I don’t look like such a dork whipping a paint deck out of my purse! Like I do. All the time. : )

Oh my goodness would I love one of these. My husband just taught me what an app was today so you can see how far behind I am and could totally use one of these so I could hang out with all of the cool kids….. Sigh.

I think a cool app for a decorator would be one that you could take a picture of a color and it would match it to an existing paint color and then would give yous suggestions on color combination’s that would go with that color. I don’t know if an app could do all that but I would love to see one try. Hope I win and thanks for the great sight and contest. Have a great day!

I have never left a comment on your site before, but you are on my Google reader list and I’m ‘hooked!’ Anyway, I guess a giveaway is a good time to check in and say “Hi I love your blog… oh, and yeah, an ipod would be nice!”
My app idea (and maybe this is an app, but I don’t have an ipod, so I wouldn’t know): Download a picture of a room and make color changes to match what you see when you are out and about. So if you are at home depot and you see a beautiful Behr “grey timber wolf” paint chip, and you want to see what it would look like on cabinets you can click the color and click on the cabinets in the picture and see what you think. There is something like this on the Sherwin-Williams website under Color Visualizer.
That sounds like such a great ap. I’m even more of a late adapter than you. My mobile phone is 6 years old and really basic – phone calls and SMS are about all I can do with it.

I would so be into the paint app! Very cool idea!
I would love to have an IPod. I didn’t think I wanted one or would have any use for one until my husband got one from his parents and uses it all the time. I am only a bit jealous. (I hope I win!)
I need an app for helping me hang pictures and things on my walls. If I could just take a picture of my walls and my stuff and submit it in an app and then have it work its “magic” and then tell me what to put where. Or I could take a picture of my arrangements and it could tell me if it looks good or not. {sigh} If only…
You think you are a bit behind in technology? I have an old prepaid flip phone and I texted for the first time at 33. lol Have no ipod or mp3 players but I do have a mini stereo system! lol Winning one would let me be more in touch with technology.

Ooooooh, I’d love to have an iPod Touch. Dh would be soooooo jealous. If I could have a decorating app, I’d like one where you could download photos of your rooms and then when shopping for furniture, you take photos of those and place it in the photo of the room so you can see if it will look right/fit in your space. How cool would that be? It could also work for paint color, curtains, blinds, etc. I’d also like one that allows you to take a photo of a paint color and it figures out the mix, so you can take it to the store and get the exact color you want.

I think a great app would be one where you could enter the dimensions of a room and have it create a little scale model with your pieces of furniture in it. Then when you are shopping and spot a piece of furniture you could use your finger to drag your furniture around your little scale model room and rearrange things and see how the new piece would fit in.

The first app I’d buy for would absolutely be Knit Buddy.
But as far as home/decorating goes, I’d choose A Home Interior Designer/Decorator/Room Layout/Space Planner: Mark On Call

I don’t have an “i” anything either. I was going to suggest what Mom in High Heels and others said. I want to shop for all kinds of stuff and see how it would look in my rooms in pictures that I’ve uploaded. Not just to see what it looks like but also to get the proportions right. I have a big problem with size and proportion when it comes to furniture. But I also like the idea of paint colors. But it would show up in pictures of my rooms, right? Not just as chips?

Ohh I love the I-phone I-touch. I have a mini from way back that is sadly pink and shiney (unlike my outside, but very girly like my inside). I would love to have an I anything I could use the apps on. So random number generator Pick me! Pick Me! BTW love the Bewitched post.

I am really behind technologically. I have a five year old cell phone and have no idea how to text or even what to do with the pictures I can take with my phone. How do I get them to my computer or send them to anybody?!? It would be fun to be more up to date!
BTW, love your blog! It’s nice to know there are others out there as obsessed with houses as I am.
I have been wanting an iphone forever, but havn’t got one yet. I hope I win!
how exciting! I’ve wanted one but not sure if I would use it to it’s fullest potential. This would a great way to find out:)
Would love to win one.
I’d love an app that can measure rooms and surfaces. Too often I’m at the home improvement store and I forgot to measure a room or countertop exactly. Would be nice to have those notes electronically with me always.
I’d love to have an ipod!

Astrid´s last blog ..Window Trim, A Banner, Apples & Ghosts (& not in that order)
Maybe this already exists….I’m a technologically challenged person but it’d be nice to see an app that allows you to create a – oh what’s it called?- story board? Something that will show everything you have in one room together on one “board” with your own photos. That way if you want to go pillow shopping you’ll be able to look at your furniture pieces, rug, wall color, etc and pick out appropriate pillows (just as an example…I often have trouble remembering exact colors).
Astrid´s last blog ..Window Trim, A Banner, Apples & Ghosts (& not in that order)
I don’t have an iPod yet either, so you’re not the only one that’s been behind. I do love the look of this one!
The app that I think would be great would be the paint colors, just like you mentioned. Also, if there would be something for fabrics – not sure how that would work, since I’m behind on technology.
What a lovely idea, a great way to carry with you all those lovely samples and to whip them out at a moment’s notice. Could I put that to use in my much needed kitchen and bathroom renos.

Would love to have an ipod touch. Don’t know much about apps, but would love to learn! I am a subscriber.
I used to be an early adopter, but I fell behind a few years ago. I love some of the apps that are available now, though. If something like mySurface had been around back when I was using my PDA religiously, I might have actually gotten around to remodeling the kitchen in my last house.

molly b.´s last blog ..My first haunted house
Also, the app I’d love to see would be a garden design tool with a plant encyclopedia that would let me limit the plants just to things that grow in my climate, and a plant identifier to help me figure out what I’ve already got. I’m always scribbling stuff on the backs of receipts I find in the bottom of my purse, and when I get home I don’t remember what the plants looked like, or what conditions they prefer, so it would be nice to be able to choose them from the encyclopedia while I’m out plant-shopping and place them in my garden design–kind of like what Mom in High Heels suggested, but for plants.

I covet the I-Pod Touch. Somehow it has taken a backseat to new garage door, new hardwood flooring and hopefully new kitchen cabinets. Decisions and choices…
My son has an iTouch that he guards with his life. There are so many great apps for so many different things (at least I think, I haven’t been able to surf since he hides it???). I agree with the others about being able to have pics of your room then apply paints, surfaces, furn., fabrics to YOUR room to see what it would look like. Hope I win, so I can “play”!!
Best wishes on the bathroom project, I hope we get to see pictures of before & after. My husband and I did our bathroom back in 2006 – tile floor & tub area, painting, new vanity, etc., it was the largest DIY project we’ve ever taken on together. As my husband says “if our marriage survived that, it will survive anything!”

I am glad to see I am not the only one who has been late to jump into the ipod pool! As for what kind of app, my first thought was also paint samples – but since that’s been said – how about one that puts a picture of your room and allows you to modify it with different paints, textures, trims, decor – to see what different options will look like all together before you do anything?

I think the app ColorSutra would be great for DIYer and Decorators. This is what the site says about it:
colorSutra takes the guesswork out of matching colors.
Ever wonder how professional designers create great color combinations every time? This fun application makes this incredibly easy: just pick a color from a color wheel, or sample it with the iPhone camera. colorSutra will automatically give you the colors that match.
You can save your colors for later, so you can access them while picking items that fit your color scheme. This is useful for shopping, color-coordinating your clothes, interior decorating, designing web sites. The possibilities are endless…
Design professionals have the option to display hex, RGB and CMYK values of the colors. This feature is enabled in iPhone settings under colorSutra tab.

oooh… would love! Also am way behind on the iPod thing, though it’s been on my wish list for some time….
Also, as far as DIY apps go, I think the color matching app from Benjamin Moore would be so much fun…though I’d probably feel the need to repaint all of the time!
Wow! I’m really late also. It would be awesome to get an itouch. I hear everyone is hooked that gets one! Since I run my business from home and on the road quite a bit, a tool like this would make my life so much easier. The blackberry is OK, but can be quite cumbersome at times. Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to put in for it.
Another extra late adopter here with no iPod or apps. Sounds like fun though and I’d sure love to give one a try.
Oh My Gosh..this would be so nice to have!

I check your blog every evening & so enjoy it!
Thanks…
Your idea of a fan deck app is excellent. I’m always trying to find and remember great colors.
I would LOVE an ITOUCH. That would be amazing!
I agree with the paint chip application. It would be so handy to be able to search paint colors of all brands while in stores or finding that “perfect” item at a garage sale and I don’t happen to have my paint file with me.
Wow! I don’t have one either but I’d love to have an iTouch. I need new kitchen counters and have been so indecisive. What a fun opportunity.
This is such a cool giveaway. Thanks. I still don’t have an ipod at all, so this would be really cool. I like the idea of paint chips. Also one that has fabric options.

I would love an app to tell me what looks right & what won’t work. I just don’t have the eye yet.
I can’t use Apps yet since I have an Ipod Nano. But here are some I would love… paint color matcher that would tell you what colors are similar in the different paint lines, fabric app that would show you the different fabrics in a line and the different color groups, paint quantity estimator (I’m sure there are plenty of these), and antique/collector price estimator so when I’m at an antique store I can know what the going price is on an item.
My mom has an itouch and she is normally a late adopter of technology. How did I let this happen?! Hopefully I can win one and catch up to her!
I don’t have a DIY app that’s a favorite because I don’t have an iPhone or iTouch but if I did … I’d love an app where you can take a picture of your room and then adjust paint color and fabric on screen. Wouldn’t that be cool!?!

I think the paint color app would be the most helpful to designers too – it saves time and is much sleeker than hauling around paint decks.
This is the best giveaway ever! I’ve been debating on an iTouch for ages. I think it’s already been mentioned but I’d like an app that would allow me to photograph a room and re-decorate at will! Moving furniture, adding accessories, paint colors, etc.
I have a Nano for running/walking on the treadmill (and blasting the B-52 while baking cookies) but would love a much newer model Ipod!
I’d love an app that has templates of furniture/appliances/windows/rugs that I could superimpose over photos of my house so I could “virtually” move the furniture around!

Hi…so enjoy your blog! And I’d love to win an iTouch!
I have a shuffle for running, a Blackberry for work, and my hubby has an Touch. I’m the last person in the world who I thought would be geeked out. Between my new car (I thought I needed the Tech pack on that) turning on and off the rear wiper blades on its own and contantly talking to me, the amount I spend doing stuff on my new comp program for work, I’m kind of over it. The Touch is cool. They have a translation ap for foreign languages that is pretty cool. It speaks to you so you know exactly how to pronounce the word. You need to have wifi for it if you’re traveling. The I phone would work on cell. The Ben Moore paint ap is nice too.
oohh…how fun!! i’d love to win!!
I would love an app that would let you take pictures of pieces of furniture and “colorize” them w/ a certain paint color to get an idea of what they would look like painted. =)

As a designer my self… I’m sure I would find many uses for the I-touch. One designer here in our firm uses hers to take pictures and video of clinets projects to do before and after shot. Frankly I would use it with the new Wishing Star App that takes you on a scavenger hunt through Disneyland.
I love the idea of pulling up different counter surfaces to view. Also would love the paint chip, since I have carried one (or 20 ) in my wallet for years now so that I always have my house colors to compare to new finds.
I would like an app that I could put in the floor plan of my home, including measurements, outlets, doorways, etc. That way, I could have all measurements at my fingertips when I’m out looking for something!

I would love an app where you could take a picture of a room then change the wall colors with actual samples of a manufacturer’s paint colors.
I’ve been hemming and hawing for a month about whether to get an iPod and I’ve finally decided that I need to get one for my real estate business – and now you’re giving one away! I think it’s meant to be.

Oh my gosh! I would *love* one of these. My DH has an iPhone and it’s killing me that his technology is cooler than mine.
I’m SO behind too on technology, but I would love to win one of these!! Sometimes I don’t want to be all connected all the time.

I am so behind in technology……but I would love to catch up
thank you for the fun give-away!
I’m with you on the paint chip app – I was helping a friend decide on a paint color the other day and I had to lug around a huge bag of paint chips! There’s got to be an easier way.
I also love Katy’s idea of storing measurements and a floorplan in the phone – great way to avoid making some seriously unfortunate purchases!
I’m learning to sell online. I want to do a blog soon and will be doing a group about vintage lighting. I am Learning all this and much confused at times. My son has an iPod and will help/teach me to use it. I believe one would be helpful in my blog which will be to record sightings of my surrounding here in Tennessee. There is so much that can be saved on an iPod and handy tools specific to an individual can be added. Having an iPod would opening up another avenue for me; with 75, 000 apps available for iPod, I could make it uniquely my own, taylored to my needs [once I learn how to use it, of course].

Also, I don’t know if there is such a thing, but would love an app that helped you put together color palettes. If you start with a spring green, for example, it would suggest other colors that complement that green (like burnt orange, cream and a darker green, for instance. Or a lavender, robin’s egg blue and royal purple combo).
An iPod touch is an awesome tool! We are a small church that uses soundtracks because of the lack of a keyboard player. We also have no sound man. I am the music leader. An iPod touch would be so much more convenient to use than a laptop.
I don’t have an iPod either, but would love to have one. A FREE price is great. So count me in. dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com

I think it would be great if I could take a photo of my room, then click on the countertop, the floor, the walls, a portion of the wall, etc., and instantly, Abracadabra! The new granite countertop is shown in the color I selected, the new tile is on the floor, the paint is on the wall, and the wall hanging/clock/etc is on the wall in the area I selected. No hassle buying, hanging, returning, ad nauseum that I seem to go through every time I make a decorating decision.
dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com
I agree with you Julia, a paint app would be great. Or even a fabric app. I have a big manila envelope in my purse with my paint and fabric swatches. I’m tired of carrying it with me at all times. Apps would be great!
Stephanie @ A Fine House´s last blog ..Join the Club. Who me? Yes, you!
In addition to a paint color app, a carpet sample app would be really cool….if that’s possible. When we put carpet in our church, we had to bring heavy carpet sample boards for everyone to see. That narrowed down our choices quickly because of the weight of carrying too many of the boards.
I just checked out the “apps” there are so many! I’m shocked by the number of them.
Annnnd – I would also love the paint chip app. Even better, if they could have the “recipe” for colors of various brands, that would be great. Living in a small town, I only have a local hardware store and not many colors to choose from. But if I had valspar and behr and…oh man, that would be awesome.

Since I don’t currently have anything that can use apps, I think a favorite would be one with which you could choose paint colors. I know there are several out there, so I’d probably wind up downloading them all!
An app I would love to see, and it may already be out there, is one where you could change the facade of your house on the computer and see what it would look like with different colors, shutters vs. no shutters, different front door colors.

What a great giveaway! I enjoy reading your blog and exploring the houses.
You have to try the Benjamin Moore Color Capture App!! Not only can you scroll through the color wheel of BM colors, you can take a picture and find the correlating BM paint. Pantone also has a paint color app, but it’s a bit pricey for my taste.

I would love an app. to help me pick paint colors that look good in the room I am painting & not just in the store! The colors always look so different when I get them home.
Helpful FYI to whoever wins…buy a protective cover for your ipod…my husband dropped his on the garage floor & the screen shattered (to fix it would cost almost as much as to buy a new one!)
Awesome giveaway! I don’t have an iTouch, but for DIYing, like others (and you) have said, I think a paint chip app would be good. That’s the first thing that comes to mind.
I just discovered your blog and how exciting is this! I don’t have any of these fancy things and I most definitely need new kitchen countertops too!!!

Hi again, Julia. My second comment for the iPod Touch. I have a couple of ideas for DIY apps that would be useful for me: landscape planning to help figure out what plants to put where, and an interior space planning app that I could use for help in getting new cabinets/storage for my basement or for finding a new couch that will fit my living room. Maybe they exist already and I just don’t know yet since I don’t have an iPod Touch or iPhone!
I would love to win! Thank you for the chance!
Julia,
I’m sure I’d find MANY uses for apps if I won an iTouch! It would be nice to try on hairstyles and colors before I did anything drastic to change my look. I would also use it for photos and music. I may just find myself in the 21st century!
Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I would love one of these! There are so many useful apps out there.
I think an app that would be nice is something to try different furniture arrangements in a room. There may be an app already like this, but I don’t have an iPhone/iPod touch to know! haha

I have heard the level app is a handy feature. And they have a calorie counter app, but I wonder if they have a calories burned app–would be fun seeing how many calories burned while doing home improvement projects. I’m always sore the following day, so it must be a lot!

An app. to let me carry around all my plants…I actually keep the little tabs that come in the plants…I date them, make a note on them of where I planted them and hang them on a section of my shed wall. It would be nice to have them all in one place !!! Is this crazy ??? Oh well lol
Kathy
I, too, and behind on all the technology. I’m sure I would enjoy an iTouch though. It would also give me a few “cool points” with my 13 year old!
My suggestion for an app would be a combo level with a tape measure. If there is such an app it only reinforces my complete ignorance on such matters. Winning would really up my street cred with my kids. I still use *hides face in shame* …. a Radioshack transistor radio.

I need to check out this my surface app–v cool!
I don’t have an iPod. If I did, I , like you, would want paint samples as an app. We are building a house. Our entire bedroom floor is covered in paint samples, and as my husband was leaving for work this morning, he sort of asked nicely if I could perhaps, “do something”. Yep, paint choices need to be easier, and not so messy.

As far as apps go… I know Sherwin-Williams has an app called ColorSnap. They need an app where you type in the style of home/house, and they show the furniture, fixtures, colors, etc that are apppropriate.
My kids have itouches (generous grandparents), and I play with them sometimes;-) I would love to have my own, and would definitely LOVE to have an app like mysurface, as I am planing to redo 2 bathrooms and a kitchen in the near future. I wonder what style and decorating apps are out there. Thanks for passing on this great information!

Welcome to the 21st century!
As far as apps: In regards to houses et al, would love to see one for flooring. Also, one for different exterior paint color schemes would be cool. Or maybe even one for landscape design (like moving around trees, bushes, walkways, etc.) The possibilities are endless!
Oh, great contest! I’d love an Ipod touch!

I would love to have an app that you could send your picture of your room with the dimensions and a designer could send you back a furniture layout and design. That would be so cool. I have trouble deciding where to put my furniture because I have an odd shaped den with french doors. Thanks for your entering me in your contest!
I’m embarassing myself by asking, but what’s an iPod? I’m a whiz on my computer but know zip about any other of today’s technological marvels. I don’t even have a cell phone.

Ahh, an I touch, it’s like the Lost City of Atlantis in my line of work-magical yet non-existant thus far! As a landscape designer I think it would be most helpful to have an app that links indoor and outdoor spaces. So often you see much of the outdoors from your indoors and having a connection through fabrics, textures, etc. would be killer!
i don’t have an ipod yet but my kids have ever gadget– i would love one!!! love your blog
I don’t have this. It would be so great. I still use the free cell phone from the basic plan.
The app I think would be useful would be able to view your room and see if the item you are thinking about would fit in the place you are thinking of putting it.
Thanks for such a fun, generous giveaway! I am the only girl and only non-geek working for a computer support company. As several others mentioned, I would love a paint color matcher app that would tell you what colors are similar in the different paint lines. So tired of looking at black, red and chrome! (Of course I’m not submitting this from work!)

Would love to have an Ipod of my own. Wouldn’t it be neat to be able to take pictures of items and download them into your virtual room, move them around and mix and match colors. The perfect home decor shopping and design tool.
The first app that I would load…after the DuPont app…would be from Sherwin Williams. You can match anything you see to their colors.
I am so behind in the technological world, it would be so nice to win.
I would love to have an application where I could download a photo of my room and then change the paint colors. I’m such a chicken when it comes to change.
I would love to have an iTouch. I am also way behind the times.
I would love to have an app where I could take a picture of an item I want, say a chandelier, and it would search for similar items and give me prices and where to buy.
I don’t know too much about apps (since I don’t have a gadget that gets them), but I think any app that would allow me to see a color and find a paint match would be absolutely fantastic.
An iTouch would be so much fun and so useful.
Hi Julia, I was just looking at the I Touch the other day at the stores. They really are amazing, and the things that you can do with them, wow. I hope your enjoying yours, I do need to get one of those too.
I am completely behind on the whole i-series. Havent a clue what all the craze is about.
But they are too expensive for me to buy and find out. So maybe this giveaway wud help.
Thanks.
Great giveaway! The app that I would love would be one where you can take a photo of your room and the furniture that you want into and then move the pieces around on an idea board. You know, you beam the phone at the piece of furniture and then move it around on your phone for a before and after effect? Just a thought. If this has been invented, I would love to hear about it. Thanks.
Julia, I’ve wanted to look at your site for a long time. WOW!! Thanks for the chance to win an IPOD. I would love to win it & finally have something my girls don’t. Heather
Having photos at hand for remodeling is priceless. I just carry around pages torn from magazines.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Love this blog and what a great give away!
Wow! I would have commented even if there wasn’t a giveaway. I like that app – it does look useful. Isn’t technology amazing – and fun?!

Great giveaway! I would love to win a new ipod!!
I would love to be entered to win this amazing tool. I am obviously also behind in the technology dept. as I find this so amazing as I need to find: carpet!!! A Carpet Sample app would be great. I also need to find kitchen cabinets/finishes/styles that would fit in my kitchen/home. I have so much to do, and so much running around (yes, paint samples too!) I hope you will enter me twice for my post, and for suggestions! Thanks again – I love love love this blog!

I don’t know much about apps, but I saw a couple of suggestions as I browsed the comment that made a lot of sense-the paint color app and the mood board app sounded kind of fun.

great giveaway!! count me in please~
juz my opinion about the apps:
1) most fav-BigOven
bcoz it’s really a daily torture thinking of what to cook for my dinner every single day!! Instead of carrying a recipe book and browse through it, i would prefer to check it out in my iTouch (if only i have one =p)
So for sure, if i own one iTouch, i definitely will get BigOven as my top priority
2) 2nd-mySurface
i just like browsing through housing design magazine, checking out their design and thinking what will it be the design for my future home. The main problem is, i can’t ‘record down’ the design that i want!! With this apps…it simply just so cool and handy, great job for the apps developer. (at least they understand the consumer’s need like me)
3)3rd-iHandyLevel
though i didn’t do nailing frequently but it will be very handy once i need it. great~
4) 4th-MilogLite
great apps esp when nowadays the fuel has increased price =.=
5) FilterFX for Free
Sorry to say that, this would be my personal least fav apps. Why?? bcoz i usually do that in my pc and upload it in home. I don’t have a phone or device that have that function so i don’t quite sure about that function. Sorry for that but im sure some other people might like it =p
anyhow, great job for all these DIY apps.

I would love an iPod but can’t afford one. My co-workers use them all the time so I know there are a lot of great apps out there. And if you have the coding ability you can even make and sell your own apps, which would be kind of neat.
What a great app! I passed your blog onto my sister since she is completely remodeling her new house! I would love an ipod touch. I want the iphone too, but don’t want to pay for the service, this is a great compromise! The apps seem so fun! and there are so many of them!
great giveaway!!count me in please hehe…sub through RSS feed (same email)
For extra credit, I have a few DIY apps to mention. Personally my favorite is the Handy Man Sidekick. It has calculators for figuring out how much paint, flooring, gardening materials, etc. you need based on the info you input. A friend of mine has this and I’m jealous b/c I still have to figure this out the old fashioned way.
Sherwin William’s ColorSnap lets you take a pic of anything with the iPhone camera and then it tells you the closest paint color in SW’s palette. I think Benjamin Moore offers something similar.
I read about something called Eden Garden Designer for the people who were looking for landscaping apps. The article said you take a picture of your garden, pick your zone and add plants so it sounds really handy. But I have never tried it / don’t know anyone who owns it so I can’t say for sure…
I love the infinite apps possibilities from the itouch.
An app that I would love is a measuring tape. there have been plenty of times when I wish I would have a measuring tape in my purse when I find that desk, table, or chair that i would love, but want to measure. I know there is an app for leveling, but one to measure would be grand. Not sure how that can be made.
oh yea just to share my idea about MySurface application…
i think the developer simply just rocks!!most ppl flipping through home designing magazine having a lot of remodeling ideas at that time…but after an hour or two…totally have no idea about it anymore, not even the colour!!With this application…it simply just solve all the consumers’ trouble!! coz we can’t be writing down or maybe remember our favourite colour…but we can simply just browse through the iTouch and save up all the ideas we have at that particular moment!!
kudos to the developer. So if possible, send me an iTouch too so that i can try on this application and write a detail review of this great application!! haha…just kidding~
last but not least, good luck to all~cheers~

I would love one! Thanks for the opportunity.
I really want one of these–so cool! And I’d think there would be a variety of useful apps–paint samples, fabric samples, etc.–but especially the ability to create idea boards. Wow!
Welcome to the world of Technology! I have a blackberry storm but I would love to have an iTouch for all of the neat apps!!
Thanks for a great giveaway!
My favorite app would have to be the mysurface app – that just sounds so neat!
I’d love an app where I could take a picture of my room, then apply a paint color to it…
Penne Pojar´s last blog ..I am pretty sure Aveda has a crush on me.
Gave this little some thought…What app would I love to see. Take a photo of a room and it would fill in the all dimensions of room including the windows and doorways. Oh my.. just imagine carrying that information with me all the time

I would love an app that would let me take a picture of my house and change it however I could, maybe then I could convince my boy that we really do NEED a magenta kitchen

Cole´s last blog ..Success!
If I were to tell you of an app I’d like, that would imply that I have a clue about any of that. I don’t have an “I” anything
Although something that let you take pictures of your space and then let you pick paint colors and see it on the walls would be fabulous….

I would love to win I’ve never had an i=anything and i love how the apps can make you have a co mputer at your fingertips!
i think a new app that would come in handy would be to be able to find something in a store and automatically see exactly how it would look in your house – i guess sort of interactive photoshop!
