Spring Ahead

by hookedonhouses on March 7, 2009

To Do This Weekend:

  • Open the windows.
  • Set the clocks ahead.
  • Sweep the spiderwebs off the front porch.
  • Re-hang the porch swing and add fresh pillows.
  • Take a nap.
  • Pull the covers off the patio furniture and sit outside with a book.
  • Check the yard for signs of green poking up through the ground.
  • Paint toenails and dust off flip-flops.
  • Pretend that winter is gone for good.

Let’s see what I could check off…I opened the windows, set the clocks ahead, took a nap, and saw the soft green grass Kiddo brought in for me to inspect (is that checking for green?). Oh! And I wore flip-flops today! : )

Great list!

We’ve had sunny days (yet the forecast was snow) – it was great to have the doors open for a while!! I’ll have to create a spring to-do list of my own… and I can promise you that painting my toe nails will definitely be on it, too!!!
Love the room you’ve shared…

The temperature was in the high 60′s here in Southern New England on Sat…, so I think I want to get the porch ready too!

In Germany, we don’t spring ahead until March 29. Isn’t that weird? Sadly, we have no porch or yard and it’s still cold here. Oh, and mostly muddy. Crocuses are poking through the mud though. Yea! I did paint my toenails and am in the process of spring sprucing up my house.

That all sounds like a wonderful weekend. I have had the windows open all day, I have painted my toe nails and I have had 5 mins to read my book, sadly for me though I am counting down the weeks until we fall back with the clocks ( 1st weekend in April) as we are just finishing our summer and heading towards autumn and winter.
Keep posting about cheery spring and summer items and maybe I will make it through till our spring in October.

Love your list! Loving this warm weather here in Birmingham too!
Windows open, flip flops, rearranged furniture, nap, set clocks ahead, found hyacinths and daffodils up and blooming!! Spring!

Ooh I love that picture and I love that list! I have: opened windows, set clocks ahead, gotten ready to paint toenails only to be interrupted, but plan on doing so later, and have checked for signs of spring in our yard. Can’t wait to haul the deck furniture out of the garage and onto the deck, but we’re saving that for another weekend. Hope you had a good one!

Terry–I’ve got my Allegra handy, that’s for sure! Allergies are the only real downside to Spring for me. :-)

Love hearing what you’re all up to this weekend! It’s so exciting when the weather gives us a peek into Spring. I love it. -Julia

I love being able to open up the house, at least for a few days! I only wish I had gotten to my nails. I ended up wearing my boots to a baby shower yesterday. I was so jealous of the lady in the espadrilles! I’ll be ready next time!

FYI: Allergies I tend to get itchy eyes during the allergy season. I started taking a relatively new prescription called XYZAL and it prevents my eyes from itching. I take half of the 5mg tablet at night when I start feeling itchy eyes. http://www.XYZAL.com is the site. It has worked for me.
