Calling All Lookiloos

by hookedonhouses on June 11, 2009

If you’re a lookiloo like I am (and I have a feeling you are!), then you’ll love the website Lookiloos, which offers “a peek into the style and stories behind every door.” They featured this house recently, which underwent a major remodel, more than doubling its original size from 2,000 square feet to 4,400. I love what they did with it. To give you an idea, check out the new master bedroom and bath:

Visit Lookiloos to take the rest of the house tour and read all about the remodel.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Hooked on Fridays, a blog party I host each week to celebrate the things that make us happy. If you want to participate, simply write a post on your blog about something you’re “hooked on.” I’ll have Mr. Linky up and ready to go by 10:00 tonight (ET) so you can add your permalink to it. See you then!

That bathroom is gorgeous…I would also steal the light fixture over the bed….

Beautiful. Those light fixtures are amazing! I would have to do something with that big window over the tub. Unless you want to crouch on the floor to remove clothes then slide over the edge of the tub naked to avoid being seen, you would probably want to obscure the view somehow. Otherwise, it’s perfect for the exhibitionist in your family!

Lovely – and a great excuse to be nosey in other peoples homes in the name of interior decor research!

I already have my post up for the Hooked On tomorrow – my kitchen makeover – it is finally finished :) You can take an early peak if you wish!

I’m with Jeanne on the bath. Apart from the finishes I like the size and shape. Seems like new upscale master bathes are bigger than garages. This one seems just right to me.

I am so like you– I love homes and the opportunity to LOOK! Last night i was driving and came upon a BANK owned home that was having an open house.

I took some pictures and will post them soon… but i cant help but say how sad it made me… the home was over 3 million dollars and HUGE.. so empty.

Perfect example of how a house is just a house unless someone who loves it live there to bring it life!

TTFN– hope to see you tomorrow.

Claudia

What a great site…me and my hubbys favorite past time is driving to open houses on sundays!

19 Tonya June 11, 2009 at 4:59 pm

I love some of the light fixtures as well, but (just my personal opinion) it looks overdecorated. Every single inch of space has stuff in it!! My eye was all over the place, some rooms did seems soothing though, just (in the spirit of COCO Chanel)take one accessory off! Thanks for the Lookiloo!

20 Struggler June 11, 2009 at 5:06 pm

It’s not lookiloo-ing, it’s industry research. Or, in our neighborhood these days, it’s also called “cheering up the poor realtor who’s giving up their Sunday to sit all alone”.

This does look like a lovely re-model.

I love looking at houses so much that I like to ride through neighborhoods on my vacation! And I even do real estate searches for different locations just to see gorgeous houses. This one looks too elegant to live in!
