When I spotted this pretty porch on Pinterest, I had to see more of the house. What I learned was that it was a beach house built by Strickland Homes for Homearama 2012 near the ocean in Norfolk, Virginia, with coastal-inspired colors and decor. Take a look!
A Beach House Built in Norfolk, Virginia
Love: the windows, the planters, hydrangeas, and the path leading to the back gate.
Fitting the house’s coastal-inspired design are rocking chairs with dolphin-shaped cut-outs.
The porch ceiling and front door are painted a pale blue.
Inside the House:
An upstairs bunk room with built-in beds:
The Family Room:
The kitchen has an island painted blue:
And a pale-blue backsplash, too:
The Dining Room:
The mudroom has built-in storage:
The back of the house was designed for outdoor living, too:
Nice to have an outdoor shower when you’re this close to the beach!
The back porch is where I’d hang my swing… 🙂

I’d love to spend some time in a beach house like this right now. I’m still in a summer vacation state of mind, so I can’t believe it’s August already and the kids go back to school soon. They’re selling big ceramic jack-o-lanterns outside our local Kroger now, and to that, I say “BOO!”
