One of the best things about having this blog is that readers frequently send me photos of their homes. I’m such a snoop so interested in seeing how other people live that it’s always a treat to see the houses behind the lovely people who write the comments and e-mails. I was especially happy when a reader named Pascale sent me pictures of her colorful farmhouse kitchen in Portland, Oregon.
Pascale was inspired to recreate the feeling of her grandparents’ farmhouse kitchen in Belgium, where she grew up eating Sunday meals with her family. She says she wanted it to feel happy, and “I need color to feel happy.”
There’s plenty of color to cheer anyone up here, from the apple green walls and multicolored tile to the red throw rugs and beautiful blue AGA stove.
Thanks to Pascale for sharing her kitchen with us. You can see additional photos and read more about it in the The Oregonian (photo at top via their article, by Motoya Nakamura; other photos courtesy the homeowner). Pascale also has a blog, which features her cartoons, at Maxine’s BD.
