I was going to say "Bewitched" and then noticed you had it listed. The only house I love better than the "Bewitched" house is the one from "Something's Gotta Give" It's funny how many magazines I read now where they talk about being inspired by the SGG house!

Castle Howard is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture. The exterior was also featured in the 1975 film "Barry Lyndon". The recent feature film of "Brideshead Revisited," however, was not compelling in its attempt to subvert what Evelyn Waugh intended and pales next to the original 1981 TV miniseries.

The branch of the Howard family that resides here are distant cousins of the Howards (technically Fitzalan-Howards) who hold the dukedom of Norfolk, are still Catholic, and reside at Arundel Castle in the south of England, an actual medieval castle with Victorian upgrades. Arundel Castle has plausibly substituted for Windsor Castle in the 1994 film "The Madness of King George" and in the upcoming "The Young Victoria," to be released later this year.

What a gorgeous house! I love that patriotic banner haning from the porch. It looks so pretty hanging against the stark white house.

I am trying to find out the name of a movie that takes place mostly at an older house with a porch. As I recall, the movie starts out with a family member visiting an older or depressed woman who spends most of her time sitting on the porch. This movie may have been located in a vacation resort town like Cape Cod. There is a scene in the movie where the visitor to this woman (perhaps her daughter) goes to the grocery store and gets into a fight over a parking space. Do you know how I can find out the name of this movie? I would love to see it again. I believe that I saw this movie in the 1980's or 1990's. It was definitely before the year 2000. Does this movie setting sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.
