I work 4 doors down from Fig Tree Cottage, on gallery walk and its my absolute favourite cottage on the mountain, ever time there is an open house i pop in for a sticky beak. Tamborine is a wonderful place to live the weather is completely different to regular Queensland weather, its cooler pretty much always cardigan weather up here! X

I loved the blue check skirt on the cottage cabinets. this way I won’t have to nag the hubs anymore about replacing the two doors the dog chewed the corners off of about 10 years ago….he has promised,,,, lol I have yet to see them repaired. But this curtain idea is perfection. Now, off to the fabric shop….and rev up my Singer!

Now that is what I call built to English code- after the Great London fire all wood roofing was permanently banned and all houses had to be built of stone brick or stucco. A very safe house indeed! The fire works great it is so warm and cosy… Perfect place to nap any time of the day. ???? I have a Facebook page for Fig Tree Cottage with 100s of beautiful photos I’m sure you will enjoy. The agent couldn’t use my most recent ones.. Wrong size apparently?!! On the page I have gorgeous photos of the garden in all of the seasons. It’s particularly beautiful when the Wisteria is in full bloom and the hydrangeas!!

This is the most intellegent design I have seen. Fireplaces are completely useless for heat forcing one to choose between installing an insert (with fans that make noise) or a freestanding stove (which will put out far better heat than insert) as this builder did. But all the fireplaces I have seen are way too short to put the stove inside so it must sit out in front which looks ridiculous. This fireplace is the best solution. The only thing that concerns me the roof shingles- are they wood?
