Designer Wendy Bellissimo’s Home in Hidden Hills

by hookedonhouses on February 17, 2012

Wendy Bellissimo, who is known for designing nurseries for celebrities, is selling her nearly 7,000 square-foot home in Hidden Hills, California, for $3.495 million. It was built in the 1950s but she renovated it in 2008. Take a look!

There’s lots of stone both inside and out.

The listing describes it as a “Premier Long Valley cul de sac location set on a private, tree-studded knoll just steps from the breathtaking Ahmanson Ranch Preserve.”

The house has 7 solid limestone fireplaces.

There are 7 bedrooms and 7.5 baths.

I love the stone wall in the kitchen.

The house sits on an acre of land.

Wendy’s website has more information about her work and photos of adorable celebrity nurseries she has decorated. She also has her own line of baby care and nursery products.

Like it? For more photos and information check the listing by Dana Olmes of Sotheby’s. (Thanks to Kim for telling me about it!)

it’s rare that i experience this
but there’s nothing in and outside of this home
that i would feel the desire to alter

it is so lovely
with just the right touch
of vintage style with modern upgrades

thanks for sharing!

Hi Julia,

How are you doing this morning?

I feel this house is one of those you get in and feel relaxed. It’s a beautiful home, but not too precious… just a comfy and warm one!

Have a great weekend.

I like it. I’m surprised because I was expecting the typical stylized Hollywood home, but it’s not. It’s a beautiful, warm, comfortable home. It’s an absolutely beautiful home on the outside. I love the all the stone and wood beams. Yummy.

That stone breezeway is very attractive. The whole house is! Rustic, yet elegant – love it!

All that stone, yet still cozy! I’ve been following Wendy since she began, so it’s great to see her doing so well. Thanks for sharing this one. Love it.

Thanks for sharing this house with us. Wonderful stonework inside and out. Outside is very cleverly done. Although my guess is that the entire house was built at once, I like the mixture of stone and clapboard and the way the house looks as though it “mushroomed” — growing over time as additions were added on to it. It gives the house an instant sense of history.

I think you put your finger on what makes this house so charming. I see this “mushrooming” on the interior —for example, the interior stone walls– as well as on the exterior. It really makes for a lovely, lovely home.

i think i liked almost everything about that house…i especially love the exterior. it looks like one of those old homes that has had a alot of different owners who each, with no apparent firm design vision, added on according their particular needs & style until the house became the charming place it is today.

So beautiful I want to cry. Just gorgeous from head to toe! I’d bust to see the nurseries she designs . I guess there’s another whole world out there with people who can afford such a designer for baby’s nursery. Bless their hearts .<3

I love this home! Wow, I’d don’t know if I could move from a home like this. So pretty & yet so comfortable looking. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous as well.

I really, really love this house. It’s so unique and elegant/rustic. I wouldn’t have thought one could successfully put those two things together but she has. I really love that breezeway.

Gorgeous, gorgeous home, but it leaves me to wonder… how much money can you possibly make designing nurseries for celebrities? I find it hard to believe you can make quite THIS much… Or maybe I just don’t understand money.

Love seeing the homes of designers. In most cases the designer has to curb their ideas to adhere to their clients tastes/needs/etc. So when you DO see a designer home it really shows what they like, how they mix styles/periods together and, in addition, they will have the best fun in designing because it is it exclusively for them.

You’re Welcome Julia! Very rarely is there a home where I wouldn’t change a thing. That’s how I feel about this place. This house has that elegant and serene feel about it inside and out. I can tell every single detail was well thought out. If I owned this house, I would never let it go.

Julia,
This is one of the prettiest homes ever. I love the attention to detail and the stone on the home and the grounds and the kitchen and the…wow! Now, if only I had the cool $3+ million. :-)

I love this place. It’s so much of California of my childhood memories. It’s on such a beautiful piece and land. I’m a sucker for stone work, and this really is pretty. There might be a color or two I would change, but I would have to cover those windows before I could take a bath! I don’t care how private it is! LOL!

What a beautiful rambling ranch, with just the right amount of rustic. I sold a lot of her bedding sets in a baby boutique I worked in 10 years ago…so I kinda feel like i helped contribute to this house, HA! :)

What a lovely house. It reminds me of my own, a mix of rustic and elegant. Stone work and wood. But she’s achieved what I pull my hair out trying to imagine doing for my own.

It’s kinda nice once in a while to see a house that’s so far out of your price range, and yet you don’t swoon over it. I love fairytale style on the outside, but the interiors on this don’t quite follow through for me. Kinda tudor/spanish/hotel mix. Love the stone wall idea, but with one stone on the wall, a different on the floor and a third on the counter plus ornate cabinets w/an odd layout: is a lot going on. I’m sure limestone FPs cost a lot but the LR FP seems undersized/builder style which really stuck out to me, another FP is contemporary. The styles just don’t quite flow and a bit too much hardscape for my taste…whew, finally get to save a few mil for once, lol.

this reminds me of something between a cottage and a castle….it’s almost like what i pictured cinderella’s home to look like in real life – before she met the prince and ran off to her happy ending. i especially love the vanity in the bathroom – such a unique detail!
