I used to live very near the Father of the Bride House, in San Marino. In the movie, George Banks says that he lives in San Marino, but the house is on El Molino Ave. in Pasadena.
They added climbing roses to the exterior of the house for the movie, which are mostly gone now. That accounts for a lot of the “not quite right” feeling people get when they see the actual house as it is today.
PS – The Father of the Bride house is about 2 blocks from the house in Chinatown where Faye Dunaway’ s character lived.
And about 2 blocks west of there are the movie Beverly Hillbillies mansion and the governor’s residence in the TV series, Benson.
Pasadena gets used a lot.
