I just took the Stylefinder quiz over at My Design Guide (my blog’s newest sponsor). It was fun! You simply click on the photos that appeal the most to you. I turned out to be equal parts Coastal, Modern, and Romantic, which may explain why I sometimes feel like I have multiple decorating personalities. Ha.
My Design Guide is an ingenious virtual decorating service for people who need professional help but don’t have a lot of money to shell out for it. Here’s how it works:

Step 2: Send them photos of the room you need help with.
Step 3: Talk to a professional designer about your space.
Step 4: Get your design plan with shopping ideas from stores like Target and Pier 1.

I am WAY traditional and a teeny bit Costal. makes sense to me, growing up in the SouthEast and currently living in a historic neighborhood!
Way Modern with an equal of Asian, Coastal & Romantic. I was surprised at the Asian influence also!

It says that I am WAY Modern and WAY traditional with some romantic thrown in. To be honest that sounds like my house – I teeter on modern and traditional and end up not being able to make a decision. I end up playing it safe and boring… I could use some StyleFinder for sure!

Not sure how to read the results. Looks like equal parts (if I am reading it right – it is the raised looking bars, right?) Asian, Country Romantic, Rustic, Traditional. How does *that* happen? I guess I just like what I like.

Not surprisingly i’m mostly coastal (go figure, living in middle America), with equal parts country/romantic/traditional. Yes, that sounds about right!
Ummmmm….I got a hefty dose of Asian mixed with equal parts Modern , Romantic and Traditional. I’d really like to know how this is all measured. My guess is that each photo is labeled as one or two of the decorating styles and that they are tallied up at the end. Seems that because I chose a lot of red, that might have been the Asian thing? I’m curious how the dog running in the grass is labeled. I just thought it was a “do you like pets?” thing but maybe I should’ve paid more attention to the breed? And did anyone else find the lifestyle images humorous? I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what some of them meant! So I ended up with a pic of some dad and son playing t-ball in the yard. I don’t have a kid and I don’t have t-ball. Maybe I’m just an over-analyzer, but these things always seem to cause more confusion than clarity. I just don’t get how stock photos can help a designer design a space…or anyone else figure out their “style.”

My style is cottage with a decidedly British influence. As an interior designer I have worked in many different styles. I am continually amazed by those who have no idea what their personal style is. I have always encouraged my clients with this problem to discover their own personal likes and dislikes before attempting a design project. Any tools that can facilitate this process are welcome!

I’m mostly asian, with dashes of country, rustic and traditional. I live in a Wright-inspired ranch, due more to its location than my particular preference for the style. So my ACTUAL living conditions are not necessarily my IDEAL surroundings… I gravitate to bungalow, cottage and craftsman houses with big front porches. I was born into a Chicago bungalow, and I think it stuck-LOL! Fun quiz though, and I submitted pics of my dining room area for design assistance.
This was fun…I was Coastal, Traditional, Tuscan. I can see that in my home! I’m sending this to my friends… Thanks for sharing!
Apparently my style is very heavily Asian with equal smaller parts Rustic and Traditional. The Rustic and Traditional I agree with but where the overwhelming amount of Asian came from stumps me. Thanks for the fun quiz!
I’m almost all Tuscan, with half bars of country/rustic/traditional. I probably wouldn’t have guessed that, but I think it’s pretty close!

I ended up as Modern with a healthy dollop of Asian. Pretty close, I’d say.

Pretty interesting! I came out with the results: “Inspiration”. I never would have guessed that. It kind of makes sense though, because I get inspired by looking at different things. Thanks for sharing this quiz with us.
Looking at the bar graphs, I’m about 95% of Traditional, 50% of Coastal and 50% Romantic.
I’m mostly traditional with a sprinkling of country, Tuscan and rustic. Pretty accurate, actually. This was fun! Thanks for sharing!
The bar is almost completely Modern with Asian, Romantic and Traditional bars being half full. I knew the modern and asian styles would come out but I never would have guessed the romantic or traditional.
I am almost all asian with a little bit of rustic. Which seems an odd combination to me and not at all what I would have thought. Crazy!

I guess I got mixed up. I am half, Country, romantic, and traditional, but mostly Rustic. No wonder why I never know what my style is. I will probably never be able to decide on one style to decorate my future home.
I’m a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll…no wait, wrong survey.
I’m Asian, Romantic, Traditional. Pretty accurate, but not heavy on the Asian just touches of it. I would reverse it and make it heavy on traditional, romantic, then Asian. I think I just confused myself.
