I can’t believe none of the neighborhoods from the oldest city are on the list! I swoon every time I drive around here. I feel like I am in old house heaven.

Love, love your site, I cannot thank you enough Julia for sharing so much with us. It is always so exciting to see what’s next.
The Kansas City area has some great historic home, near the Country Club Plaza, Brookside etc.

Wow, Julia! So much cool stuff to see in one short post! I’ll be back for more later.
Contrary to popular belief, not everything is shiny and new here in So Cal. We have plenty of great little turn-of-the-century neighborhoods tucked up against the foothills from Pasadena on out to Redlands. But what seems to get the most press are the super huge celebrity homes and “compounds”. “Real” people don’t live like that. Not even here, so close to Hollywood.

I loved the “51 Best Old-House Neighborhoods”. I was in Victorian home Heaven. I had a blast looking at certain places in birdseye on Bing.com and Google maps. I found beautiful victorian homes.

Lot’s of things to look at on today’s post!
I first went to the “51 Best Old House Neighborhoods” to see what they had for Michigan. Whoa…I would NEVER have picked Detroit! There are so many other area’s, Marshall Michigan for one. Sure, there’s are plenty of “Old House Neighborhoods” in Detroit….but would I live there…no way. Sorry to say that because yes, those old homes are beautiful, but what the city has become…is not.

Great links! The Ellen video is too funny. I wish Harper’s had more pics of Paloma Picasso’s Moroccan home. From the few pics, it looks beautiful.

14 Annie@A View on Design February 28, 2010 at 1:27 am

that blue beach house is striking, I wish they had more internal pics… (I can’t believe Nic Cage had to drop his house price 50%!)

Chalkboard door is a nice and stylish idea. I like whiteboards better but I guess it doesnt have the same texture as a chalkboard. And whatabout a cork board door?

23 Susan @ Your home, only better. February 28, 2010 at 10:28 pm

I have a thing for chalkboards and white decor – love that last photo! Maybe it’s because deep down inside, I know the white chalk dust won’t show up on everything else! :)

Love, love, LOVE! the red book cases.

So many people love red but feel it’s too much on the walls. What a great way to incorporate.

I wouldn’t expect any less of a Picasso.

Thanks for sharing!
