News from the Homefront

I’m still in Nashville at the BlissDom blogging conference, but here’s a round-up of “house news” I came across this week!

Full House Victorian for sale

This Victorian home from San Francisco’s Postcard Row, featured in an episode of “Full House,” is on the market. (Thanks, Aniela!)

Housesitter-small yellow house

The little yellow house from the Steve Martin-Goldie Hawn movie Housesitter is one of my favorites. I was just contacted by the architect who designed the original it was based on. See what she told me about it here: The Yellow House in Housesitter.

As a very devoted Full House fan, I can tell you that this is not actually the Full House house. The house used for all the exterior shots is actually on 1709 Broderick Street. You can see a picture here.

A lot of people get confused, because the family is shown having a picnic in front of the Painted Ladies, which look similar to the house used for the exterior shots. Just thought you’d like to know:)

I LOVE your blog and have it on my list of blogs to read every day.

Mary-Grace–
That’s right. The article says it was shown in that episode. Some articles have claimed it was the actual Full House house, but it wasn’t.

Thanks for the link! -Julia

Julia, I hope you’re having a wonderful time at BlissDom! I wish I were there to meet you. . . but, on the other hand, I’m glad to be here with my husband on his birthday. Maybe next year!

By the way, I just LOVE your new dining room piece. Now that was quite a birthday present, wasn’t it? What an awesome mom!

Hi Julia,
Blissdom sounds interesting, hope you’re having fun. I love your pretty new chest in your dining room. I’m sure you will remember your mom every time you look at it.
In my next life I would love a rambling Victorian to call home, it’s a beauty.

I love full house too. No interior shots inside the victorian home? That’s too bad. I would have loved to have taken a look.

I wouldn’t want to live in the ice house. I would be afraid that it might crack.

Wow, I love the feel and looks of the Prairie house. Those homeowners did a great job with the design.

Thanks so much Julia!

The Victorian home in San Francisco is just gorgeous. I actually wasn’t aware that the beautiful row of houses there is called “Postcard Row”, makes sense!
