Stairs That Stand Out

Sticviews-staircase before and after

You know how we’ve been seeing all kinds of creative painted designs on staircases in the blogosphere? When I saw this before and after in the Sticviews Idea Gallery, I thought, of course! Why not use “stics”–which you can customize with any pattern on them, in any size–instead of stencils or paint?

Sticviews is one of my blog’s sponsors, and it’s always fun looking through their gallery to see what’s new. Some people get really creative! The stics peel right off whenever you’re tired of them and want something new–so you can go really wild and crazy if you want.

I wonder if this staircase is in the same house as this Animal-Print Kitchen I showed you?

My friend Amy (Living Locurto) was showing her readers how you can use stics to personalize your laptop, and this is an example she came up with:

Sticviews-Hooked on Houses laptop stic

How cool is that? I think I need one! (And a laptop to go with it…)

Whatever you want to personalize–walls, appliances, cars, laptops, or staircases–it’s easy to create something unique with Sticviews!

Those are really neat! And so easy to remove if you grow tired of the pattern!

Julia, I don’t know that I would have the nerve to paint zebra stripes on my stair risers, but I love the way that looks! Stop by my blog when you have a chance…you have a mention.

I wouldn’t want those stickers on my stairs if I had one, but they would be cool for other things.

I think the stairs ones could be really awesome if done right. I think if they were really cheap they would be fun to do for a themed party of some sort.

Very cool. Not sure I’d ever find the courage… but there’s definitely lots of fun to be had with these in other ways.

kinda neat? I am much more for a beautiful staircase to look “timeless”…..like they could be there forever and just look better with age:) but hey, great idea!!

I love this idea. It’s so cool. I did a post once about tacking wallpaper on stair rises for a similar look.

Rats. We have carpet on our stairs. :s I’ve looked through their gallery before though, and it’s nice that they have tons of other uses, especially for us losers with carpet on our stairs. ;)

PS. I think the storage space in that first photo is too cool!

That is a great idea, Julia! Thanks so much for sharing this! My house is going back on the market, but if I was staying I would definitely do something like this to my stairs. Very easy solution to do something to those stairs that are the first thing you see coming in my front door. Love the idea of the stics as a laptop skin, too.

I could see myself doing that if I had a more contemorary house. Or if my house were more run down and needed sprucing up. I am now neither here, nor there.

I’m not really into the patterns on the stairs. I think it tends to make everything look cheap. I do love the drawers/cabinets in the side of the first set of stairs though!!
