Fun to see the real house, thank you for posting. Just for accuracy’s sake, in the movie and Forster’s book, the Schlegel family is forced to move out of the Wickham Place house not because they couldn’t afford it, but because the lease had run out and the landlord would not renew. The house was to be torn down and replaced with “modern” flats.

I’m greatly enjoying your posts about houses on movies. I think that houses over there are just gorgeous, just look at those trim works, ceilings, walls and paint. I’m seeing some pretty ornate details anywhere i look!

Howard’s End os one of my favorite movies. I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to live in such a place, anyplace like that, with the architecture, decorations, and history. One would never want to leave and go to work, or the market, or anywhere.. for that matter. I would be a most happy hermit.

I love these peaks into movie set homes! I love how grand and cozy the house looks in the movie more so then it’ modern day look..but I suppose that all has to do with ‘movie magic’.

Either way, what a beautiful townhouse- London homes really do have such a unique look.
