Gogirl! I’ve been getting lots of visitors this week thanks to a mention on the Gogirl! magazine website, but I couldn’t read the language. When I mentioned it on my Facebook page, a reader told me “It’s Bahasa Indonesian. It’s roughly saying if you want to see a link about the Cullen’s house from Twilight, they should visit your site.” (Thanks, JenJen!)

R.I.P. This Young House: Hello Young House Love! In case you missed it, John and Sherry, the creative couple behind the popular blog This Young House, were forced to change their name after a well-known magazine franchise threatened to sue. They said readers might think the blog was associated with the magazine (which is a bunch of hooey–we were never confused, were we?). Be sure to update your blogrolls and stop by to wish them well at their newly christened Young House Love. (I’m digging the new name. Maybe because it reminds me of Beach Cottage Love?)
She’s So Crafty: Susie of Bienvenue spotted some cool artwork featuring giant typewriter keys like this one (above) in the Pottery Barn catalog. She loved it, but wasn’t so crazy about the price, so she created her own version. I think it looks great! Stop by her blog for a step-by-step tutorial if you want to try it yourself.
Thanks for July: I just have to thank you for making July the biggest month ever here at Hooked on Houses. I was stunned when I checked my stats today and saw that my blog got 330,000 hits last month. Whoa! I have no idea why or how that happened, but I’m grateful to every single one of you.
To be honest, I spend wayyy too much time on this blog. Every night, every weekend. I literally lose sleep over it. And when you come to visit and send me comments and e-mails and mention me on your blogs, well, it makes all the hard work feel worthwhile. I wouldn’t still be here if you weren’t! -Julia

Very exciting news for you…congratulations on the success of your blog! July was my best ever month too…nothing like your numbers, but I was happy! I have been posting a lot more lately than usual, but no promises for August as things are already starting to get crazy in preparation for school (which starts in August here in Atlanta).
