This is a wonderful story! How great that you were able to keep that piano. Thank you for sharing this with us. I love the mental image of your husband playing with his new “band.” Funny how we mellow over the years, isn’t it?

Like you, I have very few heirlooms, so it was easy to choose one for the Heirloom party: a deacon’s bench from my grandmother’s church. I remember going to church with her; I can so clearly see a deacon sitting on that bench!
