Sweet Furniture for Sweet Baby Rooms

{Pottery Barn Kids: Kayla Nursery}

I love baby furniture (and baby clothes and baby toys). One of the best parts of being pregnant was that I finally had an excuse to shop for a nursery.

I spent years trying to have a baby and being told by doctors that it was “going to take a miracle.” Every time I saw a cradle or a pair of tiny shoes, I wanted to cry because I had no one to buy them for. So the minute I saw a heartbeat on the ultrasound, I could hardly wait to start shopping and decorating a nursery. It made it all seem real.

Now my two miracles have outgrown those nurseries I decorated for them. But that doesn’t mean I don’t still enjoy looking. Let’s just hope my husband doesn’t catch me–he might get worried!

Here is some of the sweetest baby furniture I’ve seen lately. Click links underneath pictures for more information:

{Pottery Barn: Madison Nursery Storage}

{Heirlooms to Be: Hand-Painted Verona French Chest}

{Pink & Brown Pique Nursery}

{Hand-painted Ladybug Step Stool}

{Heirlooms to Be: Bluebird Cottage Cribs}

{Transportation-Themed Rocker for Little Boys}

{The chandelier I hung in Lily’s nursery, from Land of Nod.}

{I have a thing for hand-painted furniture like this armoire, which has pink flowers on green lattice: Serendipity French Armoire}

{Pink Dot Giraffe Clothes Rack}

{Kookoo Bear Kids: Heritage Crib}

The Heirlooms To Be website has so many beautiful baby things that it was hard for me to narrow them down and not try to reproduce their entire catalog. You’ll just have to visit their site yourself to see everything. They also have some of the most beautiful baby clothes! Makes me wish I had another one to buy some for. When Lily was a baby I loved dressing her up in little dresses and bonnets like this:

My kids are older now, but I still have all the little dresses and rompers that I smocked and appliqued for my daughters. Today? Sewing on a button tires me.

Awww… Is it me, or has nursery furniture become even cuter over the years? I love the painted furniture, too. If you can’t afford to buy it, you can buy secondhand furniture and paint it yourself!

One of my faves too! I LOVED puting together nurseries for my four kidlts…of course, they hardly used them, cause they were in with us…but it was such a part of the whole nesting process!

Babies…gotta love ‘em!

Hey,
Saw you comment on Nesters blog. Just wondering about your magnet (because I’m thinking of getting one)- what if you wrap your magnet in some kind of fabric.. like flannel… would that keep it from scraping your door? I’ve worried about the same thing:)

Love the baby’s room. I think we’re finally out of getting the nursery ready again… 6 kids will do that:) Have a great day!

I love baby furniture too, Julia…and baby clothes and baby shoes and babies babies babies. A couple of our grandchildren have not come easily. Truly miracles, too.

I love the previous post, too!

Julia, you can’t show me (5 months pregnant me!) all this cute baby furniture when I’m trying to stay within a budget. Agh, lol. Love the Pottery Barn stuff you’ve posted. So cute :)

That blue room is so pretty! I can’t wait to do my daughter’s big girl room:-) She got stuck with her brother’s crib and it didn’t really mesh with her cute girly decor. So the big girl room is gonna rock!

How sweet of you to do a post just for me. I mean, that WAS just for me, wasn’t it? ;-) I hear you. They are babies for such a short time, so I want to make the most of that time and spoil them with a beautiful nursery. (Who am I kidding…I think the nursery is more about spoiling us moms than anything!) This furniture is all so gorgeous. Thanks for the book recommendations…I’m off to check them out!

Oh how I love all of that adorable baby stuff too! I also have three miricles who are now 24,21, and 15! Where does the time go? But now I am a grandma of a little dolly who is almost three- and having a blast with the decorating and all that goes with it! I can never get enough of this kind of fun!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

I adore Pottery Barn Kids, but we don’t have it here and they won’t ship either ::SOB:: I think their nursery and children’s furniture is just wonderful, amazing how fast it all goes by though, I’d love to decorate another nursery!

We have a Pottery Barn Kids right down the street. When I go in there it makes my uterus ache for another child – but I’m so finished and wouldn’t spend the money on it anyway – but it’s great eye candy.

Babies are blessings. And its just right that we as parents give them there own place, so they can grow.Nursery above all must be safe and the baby furnitures are free from harmfull chemicals. Thanks for sharing this post.
