I’m so excited. Get this. I’ve been asked to host a virtual book tour for Kathleen McCleary, author of the novel House & Home, for TLC Book Tours.
I love the concept behind these virtual book tours. They lined up various bloggers to review McCleary’s book and interview her in the month of September, and I’m kicking off the whole thing right here on the 3rd. I just got a copy of the book in the mail and can hardly wait to read it. (Will Work for Books!) I got a very nice e-mail from the author saying she would gladly answer some questions for me. Should be a lot of fun.

I’ve finally gotten hip with Twitter. Well, sorta. I signed up for it over the weekend and am starting to get the hang of it. To follow me and all of my inane chatter on Twitter (although I can’t imagine you’d want to, frankly), I’m @hookedonhouses. That’s easy to remember, right? But if you forget, I added it to my blogroll so you can click on it any time. See it over there at the right? (If you’re on Twitter, let me know how to follow you, too!)
And last but not least, I have been asked to write for the popular women’s e-zine Blissfully Domestic. They’re planning a massive re-launch soon and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’ll be writing for the decorating column.
I just turned in my first article. I’ll let you know when it’s up so you can flock over there and leave lots of enthusiastic comments telling them they made the right decision bringing me on board. (Yes, I’m shameless. But you knew that already, didn’t you?)

I’m so glad I got to your blog early enough in its life to be able to say “I knew you when!” I am not surprised that the world is beating a path to your door (blog), because I read a LOT of blogs, but few are on my daily must visit list. Yours is! You are a wonderful and personable writer. I don’t understand the whole Twitter thing but when my tech-y son comes home for a visit, I’m gonna have him ‘splain it to me.
