It’s been brought to my attention that I haven’t actually mentioned where I’m vacationing at the moment. So, just for fun, here are some pictures from our trip so far. See if you can figure out where we are! In this photo, I’m with Lily and my mom (my parents are traveling with us).
Here we are at an important office building, picking up tickets for a tour of another historical building. Anyone recognize this hallway? How about this famous painting that we took during our tour (below)?
Another clue: it’s been hot as h-e-double hockeysticks while we’ve been here. Seriously. I booked us a trolley tour of the city, thinking we could at least do some sightseeing in air-conditioned comfort. But then, d-oh!, it turns out the trolleys weren’t air conditioned after all. It was a long, hot day…
We hopped off the trolley to take a tour of a beautiful cathedral. Here’s a picture my son took inside:
One of my favorite things was a neighborhood of very old homes. I took lots of photos of them to show you when I get home. Some famous people live in that neighborhood, but, sadly, I didn’t see any. Here’s a peek at the neighborhood:
I bet you’re onto me by now, but take your guess in the comments. When I get back to the computer tonight I’ll post a picture that will leave no doubt as to our whereabouts.
P.S. Several of you told me to call when we got here, but I haven’t had a chance. We’re visiting family members who live in this area and things have been busy since we arrived. My e-mail has also not been working right. I apologize to all of you who haven’t heard from me this week!

I’m totally wrong, I know, but I’ll make an uneducated guess of somewhere in Louisiana or Washington DC. I’ll try not to be embarrassed since I really have no clue–looks like fun, though!
Looks like Washington, DC to me!
Looks like you are having a great time!
Yep..I’m going with Washington DC and Georgetown for 10, Bob.
The top photos could be somewhere along the Chesapeake Bay or Potomac. Annapolis of Baltimore?
The rest are of DC.

Annapolis, MD? Or maybe near Jamestown VA? HMMM
Welp at first I was going to say one of the Carolinas, but then I saw the other pictures and decided that that was more then likely way wrong. I hope you are having fun! Glad you made it safe!
Definately not Cincinnati!
It looks like a beautiful place! I’m not sure thoughwhere it is. When I saw the first photo, my thought was Door County, because of the beautiful sailboats. But then you were in that very important building and I thought of the national cathedral…but then I saw the little house and thought of New Orleans. So I don’t really know where you are! Can’t wait to find out though!!
Pat
I’m going to be embarrassed if I get this wrong because I’ve lived there - I’m going to say DC and I’m just up the road in Baltimore until we move to Annapolis Saturday!
I was thinking DC too.
I don’t post often, but I do so enjoy your blog!
I hope you have a lovely time and that it cools off for you a bit!
Nikki
I’m guessing Washington DC. Have fun!
Hi, Julia! I think that’s St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana! IF that is where you are I hope that y’all have partaken of snowballs, beignets, coffee, and all the local and delicious food that your tummy can take!
Laissez le bon temps rouler!
I have no idea where you are but it’s beautiful. It has to be on the east coast though. I hope you’re having a great time and kudos to you for blogging on your vacay. I usually *intend* to blog whilst on vacation but I end up posting 100 pictures after I get back.
I don’t have a clue where you are! But lots are guessing Washington DC & since I haven’t been there, I wouldn’t know.
Looks like a fun vacation! It’s hot as heck in AL right now too.
I can’t wait for Sept.!

I won’t tell because I know, AND, I can’t wait to see all the photos. Be safe getting home, love you!
Oh, I recognize the mural on the ceiling of the Capitol Building Rotunda!
I have been to the very places you visited in both hot and cold weather. Our visit in June was HOT! But it is always a lovely place to see and it looks like you had a grand time! I am so glad!
Love,
