Thanks, Bonnie! I love learning more about my readers. I had no idea you did all that! If anyone else wants to jump in, we'd love to hear from you, too!

You can read my full response to Diana's questions at her blog, but basically, as most of you probably know by now, I write content for college textbooks (typically business, communication, and marketing topics). I also write articles for magazines now and then (I'm writing a series on South African fashion design at the moment). I was an English major in college, dreaming of writing novels when I graduated, but I fell into this instead.

Maybe someday I'll go back to creative writing, but this blog is serving as my creative outlet for now. If I could do anything? I'd blog full-time! You guys would be sick of me. I'd be posting five times a day. There's always so much to talk about, and I never have enough time to post everything I want to.

Hi, Julia,

Thought I would answer Please Sir's questions here as I'm not a regular over there!

I am a legal secretary at a large law firm in Milwaukee. I'm transitioning to a paralegal spot here. The things I like about my job are: I get to work with smart people; the firm is progressive and offers lots of perks (like free Pilates on site, etc.); there is an advancement path for me here; I feel valued; the pay is good. The things I don't like about my job are: office personalities sometimes run amok; during audit season, my job can be pretty repetitive. My absolute favorite job (as far as what I did) of the MANY jobs I've had over the years was at a small manufacturing company where I had various challenging duties: setting up an international distributor network; exhibiting at 10-15 trade shows per year and the corresponding travel that involved; writing and supervising the design and production of company brochures in six languages, being responsible for the company marketing in general. The cons of that job, however, were that it was for a sexist organization that didn't pay women well.

Like you, Julia, I used to dream about writing novels. Earning a living and raising children took up a lot of my creative energy, but I may still give that a whirl before I succumb to old age.

What I should have been doing tonight: working on bios.

What I’ve been doing instead: taking pictures of my cutie pie kitty cat and posting them to my blog.

I did get a fair amount of work done before the cuteness began, but still.

I'm off to click on "If You're Hooked on Retro Rooms, Click Here."
