You guys leave the best comments–I really love reading them. As I say on the About Me page–Hooked on Houses is 100% ad-free, so comments are the only payment I receive, and I appreciate every single one! Here are a few that were interesting or made me laugh this month:
1. Written by JLB in response to A House as Big as Utah:
I really liked the foyer but other than that it was like the set of Cinderella or something. I am sure with a place that big a few singing mice who also clean would be a real plus.
2. Written by Hairy Weisenheimer of It’s a Weisenheimer World in response to Tommy Hilfiger’s Stone Hill Estate:
And to think, the jeans I’m wearing at this very moment contributed to the purchase of one of the lightbulbs in his home…. Makes me tear up a little.
3. Written by Melodie of Pennies in My Pocket in response to Why Your House Will Never Look Like a Model:
You forgot the fake food that is glued down. I’m personally a sucker for the wine glasses with fake wine inside.
4. Written by Tracey of Make Room For, in response to HGTV’s Green Home 2008:
I know you are going to win…but if for some reason they pick me, I promise to put all my cereals and pastas in glass jars. You will see when you come visit for the weekend!
5. Written by TraceyB in response to HGTV Dream Home Winner Stephanie Dee:
What is with that woman? That’s all the enthusiasm she could muster? It was like the host had shown up at her door to sell her some insurance.
6. Written by CindyK of Amateur Tightwad in response to To Move or Not to Move:
When we were surprised by a third pregnancy last summer, everyone else kept asking us if we were going to sell, feeling that our house (four bedrooms, although one we’ve converted, and two baths) couldn’t possibly accommodate a family of five. I grew up in a 1000-SF ranch with one bathroom and five family members, so I just can’t see the need — especially in this market — to upgrade right away. And the baby’s small. She can sleep in a drawer for a few months at least.
7. Written by Bonnie Morscher in response to The House Always Wins: Book Giveaway:
Why do I love this blog? Um, hello! Houses. Lots of houses. Houses I love and houses I hate. Houses that belong to famous people and houses that don’t. Houses. That’s why I love the blog.
8. Written by Marie of Watch the Wind Blow By in response to How to Pick Paint Colors:
I too, am guilty of painting a room “apple” only to end up with a horrific “shrek” color. However, we referred to it as atomic green.
9. Written by Joanna Girard of Studiosinaloa.com in response to A House as Big as Utah:
Wouldn’t it be great if whoever bought this palace converted it into a shelter for homeless disabled veterans or something like that?
10. And finally, again from the always-entertaining JLB, comes what I think should be the new tagline for this blog:
OMG. This site is like crack!
I hope you’ll check out some of these commenters’ blogs. And just a note–if you leave comments and have a blog of your own, be sure to list the URL so people can click on your name and go to it.
Keep the comments coming. I love hearing what you have to say!

{ 8 comments… read them below or add one }
Oh my! I’ll have to step up my comment-writing skillz so I can be included in next month’s round up!
Maya–I always love hearing from you! Don’t know how I didn’t find one of your comments to add to the list. If I had a Top 10 Favorite Commenters, you’d be on it for sure.
Thanks for the reminder; looks my URL was incorrect. That explains a lot of things or maybe it explains nothing. Hard to say!!
Janet
Janet–You wouldn’t believe how many people type their URLs wrong and they don’t work when I click on them. Or I know they have a great blog, but they don’t leave the address for it at all.
I have also noticed that if you have a Wordpress blog and leave a message on another Wordpress blog while Logged In, the URL link doesn’t work. I can’t figure out why this is–shouldn’t it be easier to leave a comment on another Wordpress blog instead of harder?
I always have to LOG OUT of Wordpress before leaving a message so that I can manually type in my blog address when I’m leaving comments on other Wordpress blogs. If anyone knows why this is, or can tell me a better way of doing it, let me know! -Julia
P.S. Janet, you’re another one of my top commenters! It’s always good to hear from you.
Dear Abby (I mean Juia),
I know you’re into decorating with black and white, but can you offer any advice for those of us that are stuck with navy blue carpet – yuk- in the master bedroom? Here’s the link to my new comforter set http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=112599&RN=31
Sincerely yours, stuck with the blues
Dear Stuck with the Blues–
I’m not a decorator, but I do have a few ideas for you. I’ll put them in a post soon, so check back for that. In the meantime, can you send the link to your comforter again? Im just getting the front page of Bed Bath and Beyond. Or send me the description or product number of the comforter and I’ll look it up. Thanks! -Abby
I am honored to have made the top ten! I am a new convert to your blog, so expect more comments as we go along. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Bring ‘em on, Bonnie!
