Hide-a-Toilet

by hookedonhouses on March 7, 2008

Tired of having ugly toilets spoil the sleek, modern decor in your bathroom?  Then hide it!

Did anyone else see this featured on “The View” last year? It’s the stainless-steel Julien BenchToilet, part of the Julien Bath Suite by Troy Adams Design. According to home-decorating trends mag Trendir:

This sophisticated concept provides a decorative solution for a generally unappealing fixture by incorporating a sliding panel composed of exotic wood, which serves to conceal the fixture when not in use. Further, the sliding portion is doubly efficient as it turns the toilet into a handy powder room bench. This highly innovative product will revolutionize toilet design as we know it.

If nothing else, it looks like there would be plenty of space to spread out your reading materials.

So now we’re putting stainless steel in our bathrooms, too?

So not only do us guys have to close the lid but now we have to close the furniture too? It looks cool but will require more training for the guys.

Now there’s a good way to confuse the guests at a dinner party :P

DaK–that cracked me up.

Lisa–So true! You might have to give a demonstration for everybody when they first arrive to avoid any mishaps later!

Am I the only one who thinks this toilet belongs in an R.V. or Airplane where there is little space and things need to have more than one use. Cool, but I hope they don’t catch on. Love the bookcases!!
